Re Napoli Pizzeria is the kind of place that you hope is around forever.

I’m a New Yorker born and raised in the Bronx, and I’ve been in the food business since I was 14 years old. I don’t hand out praise casually. I’ve lived in this area for over 12 years and eat here at least twice a week, and in all that time I’ve never had a bad meal.

The pizza is consistently excellent. The slices are big, the crust is always right—proper structure, clean bite, no flop—and the balance of sauce and cheese is exactly what it should be. This is real New York–style pizza, not an imitation. It’s easily the closest thing in Connecticut to a Bronx pizzeria.

The rest of the menu holds its own just as well. The penne vodka is rich, well-executed, and deeply satisfying, and the eggplant rollatini is done the right way—flavorful, comforting, and clearly made with care. Portions are generous across the board, prices are fair, and everything comes out fresh.

What truly separates Re Napoli from the pack is consistency. Week after week, year after year, the quality never slips. That kind of reliability is rare in this business—and it’s why this place isn’t just good, it’s a staple.

The Chicago Beef sandwich (mild or spicy) is recommended. Great tasting pizza too, nailed it with the tomato sauce, and dough was well cooked, nice and crispy, the slice was not soggy or floppy.

It’s….ok. I’m from Chicago and i can affirm this is not a chicago italian beef. The bread is wrong (too crusty), the meat is dry, the meat portion is insufficient, the meat isn’t shaved thinly enough, and the jus isn’t dark enough. No sweet peppers offered either, just spicy. The sandwich is passable on its own but it’s not close to the real thing. Order Portillo’s and you’ll see the difference is night and day.

ReNapoli is one of my favorite restaurant in the area. They have great tiramisu, garlic knots, pizza, and lots of delicious food, but their Cobb Salad is the BEST COBB SALAD EVER!!! Just look at that deliciousness!

I also love their tiramisu. The Italian Beef isn’t much like a real Chicago Italian Beef, but it hits the spot – especially if you’ve never had an authentic Chicago Italian Beef, like most East Coasters.

The parking is very annoying, but it’s expected for that small busy area. Their online service is quick, so I’m out of the area just a few minutes after arriving.

I’m a big fan of Renapoli’s Diavola pizza — tomato sauce, fresh mozzarella, sopressata picante, hot pepper oil, and shaved piave cheese, coming together for the perfect amount of flavor and spicy kick. The burrata and prosciutto pizza is another solid option. I’ve also had their pepperoni pizza by the slice; while not quite as delicious as the Diavola, I thought each slice was a very generous size.

I just had a mediocre Margarita pizza. I used to think the pizza was the best, but this last pie would not win any World Championships – the dough was under risen, so there was no puffy Cornicione and no leopard spotting like a proper Neapolitan pie. I think it was also slightly under cooked since there was no browning underneath, and a good pie usually has some blackening from cooking at 800 dergrees. Usually better, but I’m downgrading to 4 stars for inconsistency

The pizza is decent. We ordered the margherita but they didn’t use fresh mozzarella, which was odd. Semi-crispy crust and good sauce.

Now, they do not have air conditioning in this place and they have a 900 degree over in the corner. It’s basically the most uncomfortable you can be indoors on a hot summer day. Order takeout only.

Not coming back to this place again. My girlfriend and I ordered two subs and an order of fries and garlic knots. We had placed the online order at 8:30 PM and it said it was going to be done by
9:05pm and so we arrived at 9:05pm. When we arrived I asked for an order of wings (which typically takes up to 10 minutes to make- I know as I worked in a pizzeria before). As we waited for the wings, many people came, placed an order and got their orders. 20-25 minutes had passed and we finally went up to them and asked them about our order. Turns out, it was done but they never told us about it. We got the order and we went to the car, my girlfriend decided to check the bags to make sure everything was send correctly, and I’m glad she did because we were missing my sub. Once we arrived home the food was all cold and Unenjoyable. It honestly was an annoying experience and I just wouldn’t go back. Inside the foot has some messy. It’s really disgusting food. I never seen in my life.
