Very rarely do I ever give a restaurant 5☆’s across the board.
The moment I walked in, I was already impressed with the atmosphere. The name of the restaurant feels like it “screams” more heavily into “Sushi”, but don’t let that fool you. I personally felt the menu truly shined in their hot plates. The Miso Glazed Salmon was cooked to a perfect level of medium-rare and accompanied with a creamy edamame mashed potatoes and brocolini.
Variety of small plates and starters like the Crab Ragoon dip and Salmon truffle plates are a great way to whet your appetite.
Wait staff were attentive and served us well. Nick was an absolute gentleman and was very informative with the menu and made ordering that much easier.
I look forward to seeing how much more I can be impressed upon my next visit. I hope this establishment thrives and accomplishes great things.

ABSOLUTELY FANTASTIC!!! Today was our first time trying Hot Tuna for Valentine’s Day and I was blown away. I am a total sushi lover and this is by far the best sushi I’ve had in a long time. The tuna tataki and Wok N Rolls were perfect freshness and flavor wise on a whole new level. On top of that, we had wonderful service from Jamie who was super friendly, attentive, and cool! I can’t wait to come back and hope to have her as our server again!! Just wow! ❤️
Also – side note, making a reservation online for this place is the way to go! They got us checked in quickly and seated promptly.

Food was NOT good except for the crab Rangoon. The sushi platter was just ok, nothing special. We ordered miso soup and it was super salty. We hoped the rest of the dishes would be much better. No such luck. The other dishes were super sweet or super salty with no authentic flavors. We were beyond disappointed. Don’t believe the reviews. The only thing that was good about this restaurant is the atmosphere. The chef is definitely not trained in cooking Asian dishes. Save your hard earned money and eat elsewhere. We wished we did! Our group left beyond disappointed and had to go eat elsewhere because the food here was so bad!

Had a reservation this evening at Hot Tuna to take my kids out for a late Valentine’s celebration and sat in the green room. It was absolutely amazing. The staff were fabulous, the bartender and waitress allowed me to curate my own mocktail, which was delicious! It was my kids’ (18 & 12) first time there so we had to try a few things, and our waitress was amazing and patient with us taking our time. I love the ambiance of the green room, and the chairs with cushions are incredibly comfortable!

You will be surprised when you walk in. The place is very ample and trendy. Perfect for a date. Chris was excellent, great service. The gyoza and veg rolls were good. The veg rolls portion is a bit small. The fried rice is very good and big portion. The sushi was delicious. I will be back. My daughter order plain lo mein and it was also good.

This place did not disappoint and definitely deserves 5 stars. Our server was so kind and accommodating. I had the Cherry Blossom roll, Salmon sashimi, and my daughter had the stir fry noodles with chicken and we shared a cucumber roll. We DEVOURED. The noodles were so yummy and flavorful for being a kids menu item. Everything was so fresh and delicious. I have to say that the amazing staff is what truly made this an even better restaurant experience. You just don’t get that everywhere these days. We will definitely be back and request Brooke’s section (I really hope I am remembering her name right, forgive me if not lol).
Edit – we brought home takeout from here to our family and they also approved, and can’t wait to come in and get the full experience for themselves! ❤️

Updating and still 5 stars! We have been many times since the initial review below. Every time the food and service is spot on. We had one visit where the music was turned up about 15 minutes in to our meal and I politely asked if they could return the volume to the lower setting. We were first people through the door that day and only a couple other tables were sat at this point. Ambiance music is fine and the level has always been acceptable for table conversation. Only this one instance in all the times we have been was it a little loud. They apologized and lowered the volume. All that was needed was to politely point out the volume had exceeded what works for dinner conversation versus “bar” atmosphere.
The staff is always polite and the food is good. Tonight we took our adult “kids” and we all enjoyed appetizers, drinks, dinner and a couple of deserts (mango sticky rice). We LOVE this restaurant and are so glad to have an excellent food, drink and atmosphere option this close to home! 3-9-26

Really glad to have a tasty, nice restaurant in the Harrisburg area! I will say that the dumplings were average. I would skip those. But the Thai meatballs were absolutely the bomb! The chicken was solid as well. Cocktails were on point. Overall we enjoyed the experience and would return.

Hot Tuna Wok & Roll Bar, the beautifully decorated new Asian Fusion restaurant in Harrisburg, NC, offers a variety of Asian -inspired dishes, ranging from wok dishes to assorted sushi. We are long-time sushi lovers and Hot Tuna passed the freshness test with delicious gyoza, miso soup, a variety of sashimi, and shrimp tempura rolls accompanied by cups of lychee/lime and mango/cardamom green teas. The service (from hostess Ashlee to server Brooke) and plate presentation were great.
However, we also wanted to try some of signature rolls, but nearly everything had some kind of spicy fish or spicy sauce in it and dietary restrictions prevented us from trying those (need more variety there that ease up on the jalapeno and chili sauce!).
Down the road, we’d like to see the addition of shumai appetizer along with the delicious gyoza, and bento boxes and chirashi bowls and/or specials that include miso soup and house salad with traditional ginger dressing in the price – and “mocktails” versions of the exotic drinks for those of us who don’t imbibe alcohol.
Hot Tuna is still going through growing pains, and tweaking the menu, and will be adding desserts from soon-to-be- opened sister store Sugar Street next door that we were told would include homemade ice cream and cheesecakes. We hope that the owners’ investment pays off, that they listen to customer feedback, and that they become a favorite choice for finer food in a town riddled with fast-food chains. Hot Tuna Wok & Roll Bar is a very welcome addition.

I absolutely enjoyed this place! Fun atmosphere and very good food. Definitely a “club” or eclectic vibe with bars and lights! Had the pleasure of being served by Christina who was a wonderful waitress and had great recommendations! I had the Dreamy Salmon roll but also tried the Hot Tuna roll. Both were amazing. Would recommend!
