On the night of my visit, my husband and I were playing pool. The pool table was set up to accept $3 for two games, which is how we paid. We were still in the middle of our first game when another patron insisted she was next. I explained calmly that, based on how the table was set up, she could take the game after next. I then walked away.
During this time, the same patron remained pressed very closely against my husband for several minutes—close enough that it crossed boundaries and made me uncomfortable. Given prior issues in my marriage involving infidelity, I approached again to ask what the issue was and to clarify the misunderstanding about the game order.
At that point, the interaction escalated. The patron became defensive and began questioning what my “problem” was. My husband stepped between us, which prevented me from moving away or protecting myself, and did not de-escalate the situation. The patron then verbally insulted and threatened me and ultimately struck me before any meaningful intervention occurred.
After I was hit, I immediately told staff to call the police. Management began escorting the patron away, but I was not separated from the situation. Instead, I was pressured to remain in the pool area and finish the games, while the individual who struck me repeatedly returned to the area (kept at a distance by barriers or security). Her sister also returned multiple times to intimidate and threaten me.
Later, when security asked what happened, I again stated clearly that I had been hit. Alarmingly, the same staff member responded with, “She did?”—suggesting the seriousness of the incident had not been documented or taken seriously. When I left, there were multiple police officers outside, yet no one spoke to me further.
Because no follow-up occurred, I filed a police report the following day. The responding officers documented the assault and contacted the bar to request video footage.
Being assaulted over a misunderstanding about a game of pool—and witnessing such a lack of professionalism, urgency, and victim support from staff—is unacceptable. The environment felt unsafe, the handling of the situation was inadequate, and the behavior tolerated from patrons was immature and reckless.
For these reasons, I will never return.
Location. Some tvs not working so instead of bills broncos on almost every tv they had it on 2/15 and dog the bounty hunter and women’s college basketball on just as many. Only complaint
After assisting other customers, the server finally returned and abruptly asked, “What do you want?” I politely asked if they had a menu, to which she scrambled to find one. As I reviewed the menu, I noticed something seemed off with the server’s behavior. She appeared distracted and disoriented—pausing to stare at the ceiling and then the floor while intermittently typing on the computer. It was clear that she was struggling with multitasking, as simple tasks were left incomplete.
At one point, customers approached the bar to settle their bills because she had forgotten to attend to them. Another time, she swiped someone’s card and walked away without offering any explanation, leaving the customer confused. When questioned, she nonchalantly mentioned she was “looking for a pen,” but didn’t communicate that to the guest, further adding to the sense of disorganization.
Despite the restaurant being nearly empty—perhaps 10 people total—the level of service was shockingly poor. We ended up requesting the bill as soon as our food arrived, as it became clear that the service was too chaotic to continue enjoying our meal.
As for the food, it was a major disappointment. I ordered the veggie flatbread pizza with garlic bread, while my sister got the BLT sandwich and fries. Her fries were still frozen in the middle, and the BLT was just as bad—rubbery bacon and wilted, rotten lettuce. My flatbread had a strange, off-putting taste that I couldn’t quite pinpoint, but it was certainly unpleasant. And the garlic bread? It was nothing more than bland naan bread with a sprinkle of garlic powder—definitely not what I was expecting
When we asked for the bill as soon as our food arrived, the server ran our card but seemed completely flustered trying to find a pen. She returned with two pens in hand, stared at them as if she’d never seen a pen before, and then awkwardly looked between them before finally handing one over. It was a bafflingly slow and unprofessional exchange that only added to the frustration of the already disappointing experience.
It’s unclear why we even stayed as long as we did, given the disarray of the entire experience.
