Hadn’t tried Cali BBQ in a few years. It was terrible. The tri tip sandwich meat was rubbery and half cooked. Definitely will not be coming back.

I bought the Real Smokehouse Sandwich, fries, a side of Mac N Cheesy, and a side of Wedding Beans. The sandwich was big, I would probably just get a brisket sandwich next time, but the brisket was good. Fries were nice a crispy and the wedding beans with the pulled pork in them was probably some of the best beans I’ve had from a BBQ restaurant in the area. The Mac and cheese was lacking cheese. I really enjoyed all of their BBQ sauces, their habanero honey sauce was spic but very flavorful.
Like the other comments on here, good food, but a little pricey. Their main location in Spring Valley has a lot of good reviews, I understand why, it’s because the food was probably one of the better BBQ restaurants in SD. The person working the register said they officially open in about a week and this week was just kind of a trial run with only about 1/3 of their actual menu.

Had the tri-tip sandwich and fries, everything tasted good, but the sauce was definitely the star of the show. Everything came out quick. My only issue is the pricing is a bit high.

I had the country fair and it was pretty good and the sauce compliments the sandwich very well. And their fries are great 10/10 in my opinion. A little expensive but the flavor makes up for it overall. Definitely would come back occasionally.

I wish i could rate this place higher. The bbq sauce is FANTASTIC, the fries are well seasoned and go well with the sauce, however the actual bbq meats are lackluster.
I usually get the brisket sandwich, and at 23 dollars for sammie, fries, and drink id want it to be amazing. Instead, the sauce is the star of the show. Its a tad dry on its own, and seemingly devoid of a thick bark of seasoning, to me. It is FAR from bad, but for the price charged, it could be a lot better.
I consider grand ole bbq to be the best in the county, love the absurd amount of pepper they season with, and would rather have that at the same price point. I think if they ramped up the seasoning, and dropped the price a tad, it could compete.

Great tea, great salad, great sauce, nice brisket and I even had a good peach cookie but the Cole slaw is subpar.

Ribs were tasty and great flavor, a bit much for a half rack of ribs though. Brisket was a dry and lack luster. Bit burnt from what i received. If you want ribs and got time just go to Texas roadhouse and get a full rack of ribs for 26 instead of paying 38 for a rack here. Plus youll get 2 sides with texas roadhouse.
