Whether you’re a longtime regular, a student discovering it for the first time, or just looking for a great night out, the Blue Horn Lounge is ready to welcome you.
Cozy, neighborhood joint with an ample selection of brews, a diverse crowd & a relaxed atmosphere.

Walked by this place a million times, and I finally stopped in for a beer. It’s a small, warm bar. There’s an okay variety of beer and liquor, nothing fancy. I’d probably stop by again, but not too often. Can’t imagine that place busy, though. You’d be a sardine.

Looking in from the sidewalk, this bar reminded me of several bars in NYC and that’s when we realized we needed to stop in for drinks after our show.
Unfortunately, when we returned the bar was quite full and very much focused on the UNC basketball game, so we pulled up to the stools along the window and ordered our drinks. Although room is tight, it was a comfortable and friendly environment, they even had an extensive selection of games, to include many board games.
The bartender was an absolute sweetheart and didn’t skip a beat. We finally saw a vacancy at the bar continued drinks from there. This great little neighborhood bar makes it easy to sit and meet new people, play a few games and enjoy a few drinks, what more could you ask for?
Cheers!

An amazing experience on so many levels. Best dive in chapel hill. Upon walking in, this bar feels like “home”. And Zane made us feel like family. Zane went above and beyond to make us feel welcome and appreciated to be there. The selection is amazing and his recommendations were on point. In fact, I wish I lived here just so I could be a regular. I have traveled extensively and consistently and it’s rare to find a place that just *feels* so right, but this is the place, and Zane is one of the best bartenders I’ve come across in my past 10 years of traveling seeking a genuine “dive”. He not only was my bartender, I literally can now call him a friend because of the exceptional, friendly service. Would visit chapel hill again just to come back here.

You go to Blue Horn Lounge for a refreshing change of scenery compared to any other bar on Franklin st. A smaller, more intimate bar where you might catch a conversation with the stranger next to you, or get pulled into a fun game as they have many puzzles/board games to play here. Definitely recommend to anyone who wants a quiet place to enjoy a well made drink by some of the finest bar staff you’ll ever meet.

The bouncer with the beard was very rude, generally unpleasant, fights with customers for no reason, and needs to go. I used to come to this place fairly often because I liked the bartenders and it was a good atmosphere for writing. The bouncer killed this atmosphere.

Incredibly rude bartender at 1:45am on Sunday, March 23rd. I bought 3 drinks, and was denied entry to the bathroom, even though customers were entitled to the bathroom (bartender saying customer only, even when I am a customer). Another customer went into the bathroom after I asked, and he didn’t restrict them. Will never go again. The most rude bartender.

Bartender took a very long time to acknowledge me he was to busy flirting and chatting waited almost 10 minutes for him to even ask my order when there were only 3 other people in there and when he finally did he was very short. He acted very much under the influence I have lived in chapel hill a very long time and use to love this bar but I will not be giving them any business I believe his name was telon extremely unprofessional and just looked thrown away even though it was a Monday there is still no excuse my drink was not what I asked for instead looked like he disregarded anything I said and made his own. Worst experience I have ever had at any bar on Franklin

My two friends and I tried to come here and were dismissed by the bouncer because it was “at capacity.” When we stood to the side to wait, he then proceeded to let three old men in, a minute later. I feel we were discriminated against based on the fact that we are 3 young women, and he was a greasy old man. He was extremely rude to us and kept staring at us too, which made me uncomfortable. The crowd inside the bar was bizarre, so not even that upset we didn’t get in, wanted to order a shot. Certainly won’t be returning.
