Whyyyyyy did they switch to dark meat chicken?! This used to be an awesome, healthy lunch option, but I don’t like dark meat chicken. So, unfortunately won’t be back unless they switch again. Also agree that the veggies in the veggie bowl are barely cooked and could use a little more time. I love this location (quick, clean, nice staff) but the chicken has ruined it for me :

I have been eating Tropical Grille since I moved here in 2014 and I’ve eaten the Chicken Veggie Bowl probably once a week for 11 years. Today I picked up my normal weekly order and the chicken is fatty/chewy. So I called the store and they advised that they switched to chicken thighs for their meat. This is devastating because I don’t eat dark meat chicken. On top of that, I couldn’t even eat the veggies because they were basically raw. They had been cooked, but just barely. I love raw veggies as a snack, but when you’re trying to enjoy a nice warm meal, it makes it very hard to eat. So I guess 2026 is the end of my TG experience.

My husband brought the order to the residence of our son and his family who we bought the food for. He brought it in and I unpacked it only to find no meat in the bags. My husband and son returned to the TG to get it right. They were very rude in not owning their mistake and saying to my husband “I don’t know what happened”. We will think twice before deciding that it is a good idea to come back to this place again. NOT!

The younger guy that greeted me looked like he didn’t want to be there. I walked in and told him what I wanted. He then proceeded to make it as slow as he could. He even made another customer’s bowl before he started making mine, even though I had just placed my order with him (maybe it was a mobile order or something). He gave me my bag of food, I said thanks, and he looked at me like I had done something bad to him. I swear our only exchange was me telling him what I wanted. When I ate the food, the rice was undercooked and the tomatoes tasted like they were just starting to spoil (or maybe they WERE spoiled). If you decide to eat Tropical Grille, I would say go to the other locations in the Greenville area and avoid this one at all costs. The service is straight up unfriendly and slow and some of the food items in your order may be either undercooked and/or spoiled.

Good burger and lomo saltado – love this place. I’ll often get the chicken veggie bowl when want to be low carb and healthy.
They’ve got a lot of locations now and very consistent overall. Can appreciate the local family running this successfully and growing it over time.

For a place that had just opened another location, they are doing really well. We ordered the classic bowl and the south of the border bowl. Both were delicious. The grilled chicken was tender and warm. When we first arrived , there was a lady with an iPad taking orders and you told the cashier that you were dine in/carryout and your name. Then that lady disappeared and you ordered just like normal at the counter. Mind where you sit/stand in line. The place is packed full with people and not a ton of space. The line to order tends to get close to the tables. Overall a wonderful experience and we will be back for more.

This place is pretty gross. Just the taste. I had the steak and rice thing. The rice was like mush, and the sauce was not good by all measures. I forced myself to eat it because I paid. Man, what garbage.

No one greeted. 3 to 4 minutes later I was acknowledged. Manager acted like she did not want to be there. Food took forever. Sandwich was cold …croquettes were drenched in oil. Empanada so greasy and soggy it fell apart at first bite like mush.
I approached manager and she was like “yeah it’s been happening, not sure why”.
That’s it. Thanks.
Life is expensive and Tropical Grille will always be # 1 !

I love that they play His radio. Very calm and chill atmosphere. Staff super friendly and fast. Great food! Love the fries!!!
