Wonderful pre theater dining experience, food was delivered very fast which was concerning at first, but very delicious. Portion size was decent, drinks were great! Show was scheduled for 7:30, a reservation for 5:45, perfect timing because it really picks up at 6:00pm.

We’ve thoroughly enjoyed Diana American Grill every time we go to the Hobby Center since moving back to Houston. It’s the perfect pre-show experience. You arrive early, enjoy convenient parking, and have a fantastic meal before the performance.

Reservations are definitely recommended, though I’ve managed to sneak in last minute and grab a seat at the bar.

The cocktails are excellent, and the wine selection is a huge perk. I’ve had the steak with mashed potatoes, several pasta dishes, and salads, and every single one has been a stellar choice.

Honestly, I prefer to see a show at the Hobby Center only if I can dine at Diana. Don’t miss the opportunity to make your night extra special by adding a meal here at this wonderful venue.

I really wanted to like Diana American Grill since it’s right inside the Hobby Center, but the food was disappointing.
• Entrée: I ordered the redfish with mashed potatoes. The fish was dry and tough — closer to the texture of chicken than fish. The mashed potatoes came out almost cold and tasted more like packaged than freshly made. They also had no vegetable sides available, which was surprising.
• Appetizer: The crab cake was crispy on the outside (not in a good way) and the sauce didn’t add much. It lacked that soft, flavorful bite you expect from a crab cake.
• Dessert: The key lime pie was bland and flat. No creamy texture, no punch of lime flavor, just very “meh.”
• Drink: The highlight of the night. Strong vodka-based cocktail with sugar on the rim that lasted me all evening.
Service and vibe were fine, and the location is definitely convenient before a show. But for $100 (3 courses + drink), the food just didn’t deliver. I wouldn’t return for dinner, maybe just for a quick drink and pictures before heading to the performance.

We were not impressed. We arrived on time for our reservation, and the hostess could not find a table until 10 mins later. Then we were seated and found multiple stains on the table cloth. We were ushered to the bar and intially seated at the far end where heavy traffic was observed. We requested two seats that were more appealing and waited for the staff at the bar to clear the area. It was a completely an unexpected visit and would not recommend it to our social media followers.

I called about 10 times before someone answered to see if I could get a seat since their online open table said no tables yet I usually have no problem finding a seat.

I sat at the bar and had the WORST service ever. The bartender clearly needs help. He cares about his regulars but NO ONE else. I was alone so he assumed he wouldn’t make much off me but I’m a previous server who would have tipped amazing.

He offered no bread. My empty plate (photo attached) sat on the bar for at least 20 minutes before he finally asked me if I wanted another drink. I had to flag down someone just to get a refill of water. He thinks he is fancy with his feather bow tie yet he is just plain stuck up. I finally got bread after my meal. He didn’t even ask if I wanted dessert even though I wanted some. He talks to his regulars but if ever Diana wants to expand their clientele, they need to get rid of him.

The steak is amazing so I’ll come back as long as I don’t have him again. My buzz left before I could even order a second drink.

This is our 4th time to be here, and I finally made a review. This is our go-to whenever my family and I come for Broadway shows at Theater under the Stars. Food is great, not so exciting but still good. Best choice of restaurant to eat before the show starts. They serve exceptional cocktails, too!!!

Diana’s is always great. Their classics are awesome and the chef’s creative dishes are really good too.

Our favorite is usually the prime rib with either the truffle butter or blue cheese butter.

Their creative cocktails are unique and tasty… but very pricy, so we only have one or share one.

We always make reservations before a show at the Hobby Center…. and then aghast have dessert during intermission. They arrange the dessert table beautifully.

The view from all the tables is spectacular!!

Pretty view and nice ambiance overall. Our server was very nice when we went, maybe a bit pushy for a big tip but he was great otherwise. The food was good, but the tres leches cake was the star of the show!!! The bar made great drinks as well. The food was spendy but not too overly priced, but do be aware they are smaller portions. Which makes sense since you are likely going to a show afterwards, so to go boxes don’t make sense. Would recommend as a nice pre show experience.

This is our go to place before a show at The Hobby Center. The food is amazing and the service is perfection. Over the years, we’ve gotten to know Mercy, and she literally treats us like family. I truly never expected to connect with such a lovely human just from visiting a restaurant. Well done, Diana, your people are kind, friendly, and professional. Because of them, we will continue to come as often as we are able, and we will forever appreciate the treatment we receive.
