This WAS the only Chinese restaurant that my family and I eat from. The food is usually good so I never mind to drive there to buy food whenever we’re in the mood for Chinese. This past Sunday I went to buy dinner for my family. For some reason, everything was disgustingly nasty. The rice was mushy. The ribs were burnt. I also ordered chicken with broccoli with white sauce. This was the most disturbing part. I’ve never seen chicken this white in my life I was Scared to even taste. It also had a weird smell. I guess I’m done with Chinese food at this point.

I ordered Sesame Chicken, Shrimp & Scallop, and Shrimp Dumplings for pickup through DoorDash. At no point did the menu mention that the combo automatically comes with pork fried rice. I do not eat pork for religious reasons, so when I got home and opened the bag, I was extremely disappointed to see pork fried rice included.
I called the restaurant right away, but instead of helping, they were rude, dismissive, and told me to “take it up with DoorDash.” This was completely unprofessional, especially since the menu gave me no chance to choose a different side. I then contacted DoorDash within 15 minutes of receiving my food. The agent assured me that I would get a refund in 24 hours, so I waited. Instead, the next day I received an email asking for photos of the food—something they never mentioned in the original conversation. By then, the food had already been thrown away because it was inedible to me. No one keeps unwanted food for 24 hours just in case.
The lack of clear menu labeling, the restaurant’s refusal to take responsibility, and DoorDash’s poor handling of the situation made the whole experience a complete waste of money and time. Between the misleading menu, the rude staff, and the unhelpful delivery support, I would strongly advise avoiding this place. The food was disappointing, the service was terrible, and the way they treat customers is unacceptable.

Ok the FOOD is delicious, HOWEVER, the prices are crazy high..I get it, inflation, supply chain but $38 for 2 combos?! THEN we decided to dine in. The old place used to be huge, now they have 6 small tables, only SMALL paper plates, no table service. This is a great place for Chinese TAKE OUT if you don’t mind paying Manhattan prices.

Our meal was not priced at $38. We received an incorrect order, and the restaurant also claimed responsibility for the error. We were not provided with a receipt until after receiving our food, which prevented us from accurately monitoring our spending. Due to the order mix-up, we were unable to obtain a refund.

I finally found a restaurant where the food was delicious. The dish I ordered always and I mean always on my order was Chow Mei Fun. It’s a very large dish and comes in one size. I always had leftovers and planned to take the remainder in for lunch. Never had a problem. The last time I ordered it was good. I refrigerated the rest. The next morning preparing my lunch it was mush. I couldn’t believe it. I called to say what the hell happened. Well, the rep asked me if it was good the same day, I said yes it was. He said that’s all they could promise. I replied, I refrigerated this dish before even for 3 days and it held its integrity and was tasty. He ended with it must be my refrigerator. You mean I spend a surmountable amount of money and the food is only good for one day. I hate to say it but another bites the dust.

Previously, I gave one star due to the reasons I’ve stated above. It was at least three months before I decided to order food again. Face it, I love Chinese food. Since then I’ve ordered vegetable Mei Fun (fav dish) and it was excellent (integrity held). So happy! Empire is a driving distance from me but I’ll travel if it’s worth it. Sure, a Chinese spot is near me but the last time I ordered from there each dish tasted the same. I ended up trashing it. Covid hit everyone hard but when you cut ingredients it’ll tell on you and the outcome is loss of customers. Well, the bottom line is somebody at Empire is taking heed. Thanks for reading.

My wife has an allergy to oils and we order tacos4 of them She clearly stated NO oils a number of times and all 4came with oils When she call to complian they said they had no oil in the food and this was a LIE! I still have an oil taste in my mouth as I prefer no oil on or cooked with oil,PERIOD! In any good restaurant that would be taken off the bill. Maybe they need to hire people who speak better English!
