onikay’s Kitchen is a hidden gem for anyone craving bold, authentic West African flavors with a surprising Caribbean twist. The restaurant blends cultural influences beautifully—offering classic dishes like jollof rice alongside flavorful Caribbean staples such as jerk chicken.
I tried the jollof rice with jerk chicken, and it did not disappoint. The rice was rich and well-seasoned with just the right amount of heat, while the jerk chicken was juicy and had a nice smoky kick. You can really taste the care that goes into the preparation.
While the food is definitely tasty and satisfying, the prices are a bit on the higher side for casual dining. That said, the quality and fusion of flavors help justify the cost—especially if you’re looking for something a little different.
Monikay’s Kitchen brings something unique to the table with its West African-Caribbean combo, and it’s worth a visit if you’re in the mood for flavorful comfort food with a twist.

If you’re looking fir Ghanaian food, this is the place to go. Every now and then I crave afrucan restaurant dishes and its had to find ghana jollof. This has great food, topped with great customer service. Definitely will return.

Waakye with goat and fried yam and fried turkey. This was the exact meal I needed after a long vacation. Ghanaian food gives me energy and this was the meal I needed to get my vim back. Didn’t pick up my call but when I got at the restaurant it seemed busy. My food came out relatively quick. Parking was fine. Shito was very good. Garrí was iffy not my favorite but still decent.

For whatever reason this restaurant is underrated. They beat almost if not all of the nearby African restaurants in value and their food is better than average. You can dine in but it’s more of a takeout setup. Staff are friendly, food presentation is great and their environment is clean.

The management here is extremely rude. You can see from my review history that I rarely leave negative feedback, but I feel compelled to share this experience. A restaurant should be built on hospitality and respect for its customers—unfortunately, that is not what you’ll find here. I would strongly recommend avoiding this place. The place also didnt appeae clean. It’s unfortunate because I was attempting to support a minority owned business.

One of the workers there were extremely rude and non communicative. He got an attitude with us for a mistake he made. Food was good but was overpriced for the service received.

I found it rather strange that this place was scored so low, but something told me to risk it anyway and I’m glad I did! My food was spicy and flavorful, and everything was fresh.
The only thing I would’ve changed is having a green salad instead of the coleslaw.
I spoke to the really kind woman upfront while she was presenting me my order and I’ll give y’all the advice she gave me. Be sure to call your orders in advance and let her know your spice levels. Mine is rather high and she made everything with extra spice. It was great and I’ll be back again.

The Ghana vs Nigeria jollof argument has been settled. Ghana is the champion. I had the jollof with goat and my baby had the tilapia with yam.
Not the best dine in place but the food is banging.

Their suya & jollof is amazing! Also enjoyed their tiny side salad. Best I’ve had. However, they do take a while to prepare the food, so call ahead of time but it’s definitely worth the wait.
