Food: both the crab cake and rib appetizers were very good and large. They could have been our dinner. Both entrees were excellent as well.
It was our anniversary so they offered us our choice of desert to split, so we chose the tiramisu. It was very good and not overly sweet.
We plan to go back.
When I walked in, I noticed how empty it was. I opted to sit at the bar, since I was dining by myself. Anderson was wonderful! Very attentive and his drinks were delicious.
The food was ok. I got the Lobster Benedict which came with potatoes. I feel that the potatoes were undercooked and under seasoned. The hollandaise sauce had a strong mustard taste to it.
Since I was the only one at the bar, I did ask if the football game could be turned on. Unfortunately, whoever is in charge of the YouTubeTV account has not updated the payment method, so that was not an option.
I still like The Cellar, but I feel like their dinner is way better than brunch.
The space itself is cozy, and the food was actually good—but the poor service completely takes away from the experience. Service like this drives people away, regardless of how good the food may be.
I strongly recommend that they have a manager on duty who can properly run the restaurant, guide the staff, and ensure a basic level of service and professionalism.
The appetizer (lumpy crabcakes) hands down very, very, Enticing everything on the menu have purpose? A big shout out to the staff and a big shout out to the management team and a big big shout out to the owners. Because our first experience at the Cellar was amazing. We will be back no matter the price, your food quality. Out of this world, thank you for making my mother in law”s experience the best birthday she ever had…..
Don’t take my word for it. Come down and get your own experience and you’ll see that it’s more than just words, it’s A M A Z I N G … Its incredible.. thank you for being one of the best classy restaurants in Highlands County. By the way, you have to try the chocolate mousse…. a huge shout out to our bartender servers at the bar. I don’t remember your names. But, thank you. True authentic service. While we were seated in the bar area at the booth… A true fan forever…..
I just wish that they could have a better dress code. I know that restaurant personnel aren’t allowed to say anything, but for the gentleman who don’t know better, your baseball caps should be worn outside, fishing or at the ballpark. But not in a fine restaurant. Cellar-Grille, welcome to Sebring.
The staff is great and attentive to its customers needs. The restaurant is nice and has intimate spaces for gatherings.
However, that is NOT enough to justify the overpriced menu and underwhelming food.
• Rib Eye Steak – ordered medium, it was chewy and charred with a burnt aftertaste. I actually stared at the rib eye and questioned if it was a different cut of steak served as a “rib eye”
• Lollipop Lamb Chops – flavorful and tender
• Pork Chop Tomahawk- name is misleading, nothing “tomahawk” about the cut. Flavor was good but it was overcooked and dry!
• Crab Cake – Too slaty to enjoy the sweetness of the crab
• Risotto – rich flavor with a nice creamy texture, it was the best item on my plate)
• Vegetable Medley – You’re lucky if you get four veggies – they are served dry and do not expect any type of seasoning on them
• Fettuccine Alfredo – overall a great dish with a savory tasting sauce
• Mash potatoes – presentation of mash and the taste of the mash reminded me of hospital food! This was so disappointing because HOW can you serve dry, stiff, and tasteless mash?!!! Poor potatoes!!
Feedback from others in the group at dinner:
• Filet mignon – ordered medium and served stiff and dry, lacking flavor
• Salmon – tender and tasteful
For those that ordered steak, they all described the steak as being dry and tasteless.
In the group chat, we all agreed that the overall experience and ambiance is nice for Sebring, but the food is just okay, lacking substance and depth for the price.
