first off employ a full time window washer, this place has a beautiful view of a pond and the mountains , but piles of birdshit on the window sills 1 foot from your plate on the other side of the glass- i love the birds , keep them, but someone still needs to clean the windows, add fingerprints from kids, to water spots from rain, the windows need cleaned inside and out daily.
also add some colorful art to the big white walls, no one cares how nice your plaster job is and replace the burned out bulbs in the lights. maybe flowers on the tables or candles,
the menu sucks and pricing is wack , to start with our menus were all stained and dirty, they are paper insert menus so all someone needed to do is hit print on new ones and put them in the holders,
the drink wine list looked like it had been crumbed up thrown in the trash and dug back up and put on the table.
i say the pricing is wack because you could order 2 meals for the price of others on the menu. the menu has changed from other websites and is now smaller and more expensive but i understand,
the new menu is not on their website or google again thats managements fault, and i am sorry i did not take a picture of it, they had hamburgers but not a hamburger steak with onions and mushrooms that i saw , no chicken fried steak or fried chicken tenders even though they have a fryer, the pasta offerings were limited and i didnt see a seafood pasta offered but maybe i missed it . and sorry again i didnt take a picture of it, but overall the menu did not excite me or sell me on anything.
the salmon was 35 but they were out which is why my father had brought us here for , halibit was 45 and close to the most expensive thing on the menu but my father said it was good, and, fish and chips is 20 which was way less quality then the halibut but was not listed as any one type of fish but the waitress said it was hand dipped, the waitress forgot a salad with the halibut but fixed it, i had the fish and chips and it taste like it came out of a box in the freezer isle and was not even as good as long john silvers, though the tarter was good, it came with frys or chip potatoes or salad, which i got because a dinner salad because was not on the menu by itself or as a side, another menu fault, and i ordered the chips for 3.99 on the side . chip potatoes which were overcooked or just not good but were recommended by the waitress and i could not eat. mom loved her steak and asperagus , and the rolls and butter was great. wife got the pulled pork sandwich was fatty and not good but with 2 glasses of wine my wife liked it and we enjoyed our impressive dinner salads and the honey onion dressing that was recommended by the waitress.
the waitress did not check on us enough and my water glass went empty, wine and sides were often brought by bussers who acted like it was their first day and should have asked if we needed anything else if they were filling in for the absent waitress. generally you should have only one person per table serving and with extreme dedication and interest in the customers.
this place has the potential to be a 4 star restaurant and is priced like a 4 star restaurant, but the cleanliness, management, and staff is what i would expect at wafflehouse at 2 am.
Management needs to be more present and more detail oriented
overall it was not a bad experience but was disappointing, i can cook better food at home and have better service / dining experiences elsewhere for comparable pricing.
If I were the owner, I would focus on really nailing the food. Without that, the view(and the rest) won’t matter, IMO.
