This was my first time coming to The Greenhouse Cafe!
What a wonderful experience!!!
The atmosphere was perfect.
The people working there were incredible.
BOOKS… I’m such a sucker for books and love reading, so of course I loved that there were books all over the place.
Not only that, but they also had tons of fun drawings from children right at the front to show them off.
How cool is that?
Loved everything about this Cafe and can’t wait to go again!!!

Located in historic Fort Ritchie in Highland Cascade, Maryland, why not enjoy a diverse food menu while you sit in the midst of the site of MITC (Military Intelligence Training Center) or Camp Ritchie as most people are familiar with. You will be sitting in the home of Robert F. Barrick, a self-taught, determined patriot with only a 7th grade education, designed and built Fort Ritchie in 1926. Barrick served as the post engineer and superintendent from Ritchie’s inception through World War II 20,000+ soldiers attended the Camp, many of which served overseas in Army intelligence securing 60% of all actionable intelligence during WWII. Come visit, have a bite and drink and feel free to explore the grounds and visit the Camp Ritchie History Museum.

I just moved to the area, and this place catches your eye if you’re in the area. Located right next to fort richie, which is beautiful itself. The greenhouse Cafe is a must go! I had a beautiful matcha with lavender, and the breakfast pesto sandwich. My mouth dropped as soon as each item entered my mouth DELICIOUS! I was greeted by two friendly woman, thats answered all my questions with excitement. I will be coming back for sure! Thank you

Went back for our yearly visit

Amazing place to eat! The staff is really nice and cool, the food is delicious, and don’t even get me started on the coffee!!! This liquid gold tastes like heaven in a cup. Oh and the interior of the building is beautiful; plants, art and lots of seating making it a perfect cozy place to relax and enjoy a nice cup of JOE. A truly unique and wonderful experience. I enthusiastically recommend!!!!

Got hot chocolate with expresso shot. Chocolate was not hot just tepid. Couldn’t taste the expresso. Took it back. Server microwaved it and added another shot of expresso at 1.59! Still no coffee taste. Told staff possibly something wrong with expresso or machine. They made excuses, primarily “hot choc kills expresso taste.” Got this on 3 other visits and it was wonderful. Staff attitude poor.” My problem not theirs.”Wife also tasted and agreed with me. Starbucks for me in the future. This is an update visited again on 10/2. Got latte this time. It was good. The sandwiches were as always excellent. My previous 1 star rating was a bit harsh given this was an employee problem and not representive of the business. This business does respect The customers opinion/complaints and I am given to understand will offer replacements or alternatives. I am giving 4 stars instead of one, hoping that in the future, employees will follow the “keep the customer happy” motto of any successful business. THIS IS OUR FAVORITE CAFE. TRY IT, YOU’LL LIKE IT.
