Reviews
Edit: I visited Bep for the second time and this time I tried the beef Satay soup, and it was a bowl of perfection! Perfect amount of peanut flavour without the soup being super thick. The soup came out piping hot, and the server came to acknowledge my last review and let me know they have made changes to the lemongrass soup. I love a businesses that listens to their customers!! Excited to come back to try their lemongrass satay!!
Initial Review Jan 16/25: 4/5 total, 3/5 for food. I wish I could rate higher for the soup. I found it to be quite bland— watery almost. It had a fresh taste, but just lacking in flavour. I wish it was a bit spicier— it looked spicy but not nearly spicy enough.
I’ll probably head back to try some of their other dishes.
Started with pork spring rolls. Seemed to be made on the premises and were stuffed with pork and seasoned just perfect.
Had Beef Satay Soup. Most flavourful broth I’ve had, loaded with beef, not stringy sitting all day beef but fresh slices that still had a little bit of pink in them when it got to our table.
Noodles were tasty with a nice mouth feel. Absolutely delicious.
Service was friendly and attentive. Menu is not huge which seems like a good thing. Will definitely be back.
Food was great! We ordered beef noodle soup and satay roasted chicken soup, as well as shrimp salad rolls, it was a great choice!
It’s a new place, looks fresh and clean with nice interior.
Definitely a place to stop by for lunch or dinner.
Will be back again
The sandwich itself leaned dry. I understand they press the bun which gives it a nice crunch and I’m not totally against that. That said, one of the things I usually love about a great Vietnamese bánh mì is the super fluffy soft bread, and that texture kind of gets lost when it’s pressed. On top of that, the overall flavor was pretty basic. Nothing bad flavor -wise, just very unremarkable compared to the many really solid bánh mì sandwiches I’ve had around the city.
The bigger concern for me was the meat. It appeared undercooked throughout most of the sandwich. A lot of it was still pink and even tho some pieces were brown and seemed fully cooked I honestly had to pause while eating it to take a good look.
That being said I don’t want to judge the entire place based on one item. I’m only reviewing what I had today. They don’t have a ton of reviews yet, so I wasn’t sure what to expect from the high rating. Interestingly, most of the strong reviews mention the pho which I didn’t try this time.
I’m definitely not writing them off. I’d be open to giving them another shot likely with a soup next time and I’ll happily update this review if that experience is better.
The food was excellent . The staff were very friendly and pleasant.
They said they just opened in October definitely check them out :’) + Matt our server was so accommodating and sweet.
