Don Pollo is hands down the best spot for Peruvian roasted chicken in DC! If you haven’t tried it yet, you’re missing out. The chicken is perfectly roasted; juicy, flavorful, and absolutely delicious. Don’t even think about skipping the green sauce and the fries, they’re a must! And if you’re feeling adventurous, the fajitas are amazing too. Highly recommend!

I visited for the first time last week and it was good. I tried their Bistec Saltado and it was They give pretty large portions and the food is good. My steak was a little over cooked, but still good. The staff are super friendly and helpful. You are able to dine in the restaurant or order takeout/delivery. There is an area for outdoor seating, but they haven’t put any chairs out there (this location is fairly new). It’s also conveniently located in the mall, so you can go shopping after.

My family and I have been going to this location for many years now. However, two days ago my mom ordered from this restaurant and when she cut open the chicken at home, it was almost completely raw. Absolutely terrible! Unfortunately, this is not the first time that this has happened but we let it slide the first couple of times (other reviews mention similar experiences). However, this experience would have to be the first one to date, and we will not be returning. It is a shame because the cashiers are very welcoming and friendly. For future customers, I hope this restaurant takes the proper steps to ensure that their food is properly cooked.

I had to make an impromptu visit and we needed to eat something and this place caught our attention, I definitely recommend Don Pollo, what a delicious flavor, a pleasant hunger and a super friendly staff, I also ordered to take home and look at this wow , I will be back !!! super delicious! recommended

The chicken was bland, the plantains were hard, and the chaufa rice was cold and overseasoned. I would not recommend it. There are better options for Peruvian chicken and this chicken was a complete letdown.

I have only been here once and the three food was better than expected. I got a chicken bowl and it was quite delicious. The portion was large enough to make two meals out of it. The chicken was perfectly cooked and had that great Peruvian chicken flavor.

2025 JAN NEW REVIEW–
l’m raising 1 star because the food has improved as for the quantity,now portions are a bit larger,at least on the chicken. The food and flavors in general are good and l haven’t get any more RAW chicken lately.
BUT, just recently l ordered deliver as usual, and the lazy person who packed my orden put the coleslaw in the same box with fries, rice etc and all were wet from the liquid of the salad as well the whole bag and the outside of the container what a mass! Bag packing was my very first complain over 2 years ago and this packing problem still continues at this store in Silver Spring.

2024–I recently ordered for second time but this time it was not so good. I ordered delivery at 8pm but seems like they close at 9 so who ever filled my order was in a real hurry and negligent. They didn’t close containers well and the bags were all wet with liquids, the chicken was raw and bloody I had to cooked more the next day, the plantain was hard so I try to also cooked more but didn’t work so went to trash, and on top I wrote a complain in their website and it’s been 2 weeks and nobody has responded. For almost $40 I expected better service. Will -NOT buy again.
