Super super cute inside! Great ambiance for sure. Got a mojito and Christmas cooler for a drink, both WAY too sweet, Ahi Poke Bowl and Bruschetta for appetizers. Poke bowl was much better than expected, the wasabi sauce was delicious! The Bruschetta lacked a TON on balsamic sauce and basil that was very much needed on the BUUURRRNNNT, not crispy but BURNT crustini bread. I got the parm crusted chicken and Gouda pasta, pasta and chicken was cooked very well but the lack of seasoning was crazy. Nothing to wrote home about on flavor. Definitely didn’t taste much like Gouda or parm or…salt even. Also got chicken masala, also, good temp cooked but massively lacked in flavor. We made jokes about the TON of prime rib reviews and pictures but maybe we should have went with that lol. Took us about five minutes to get talked to when we sat down and the length between contact for drinks, apps, meals, refills and our tab, that long or longer. For two people, two drinks each, two appetizers and two entrees we paid $152 before tax. No where worth the price for the friendly staff and nice atmosphere.

Great place! Service is awesome, friendly. 2 of us had the filet, it was a large peice and very tender with a cream mushroom gravy which was delicious it had lots of flavor too, and roasted fingerling potatoes. I ordered a side salad and my husband ordered minestrone soup. My adult son ordered the parmesan encrusted chicken gouda pasta, he said it was very good, chicken was tender, pasta cooked just right, sauce was perfect. Definitely going to go back.

Tried The Courtyard out for the first time since moving to Alpena. What a cool place! The inside is decorated kind of like a little Italian town. We had a great server who did a great job introducing the place and taking our orders. The food was amazing. It’s not an exaggeration to say that this is one of only a couple restaurants in Alpena worth going to. I had the seafood risotto. The lobster and scallops were done perfectly, and the rice was nice and creamy like it should be. My dining companion had their “Create Your Own Pasta” with fettuccine and a bianca sauce; also done perfectly with freshly-made pasta. This is a place that cares about the dishes they serve. Definitely recommend!

Food was really good. Atmosphere was ok; could really use some soft background music. Bruschetta and garlic bread were delicious. Waitstaff left us for long intervals which was a bit unpleasant towards the end when we were ready to leave but always was friendly and I do not believe was doing it intentionally.

Oh my goodness!!! My only complaint is that this plane has ruined all mozzarella stick enjoyment for anything other than here! I have never had better. There are none that will ever measure up! And we live five hours away!!! It is sooooooooooo good!!!!! And the atmosphere is so cool! I love all the beaded chandeliers! Couldn’t be better!

My friend and I came for our first night in town dinner. Ordered the Salted Carmel drink which was amazing. Had fried mozzarella sticks as an appetizer which were hot, meaty, and the best I’ve ever had. I ordered the baked mac n cheese which was delicious. My friend ordered the blackened perch and baked potato which she said was also delicious.

Fairly good Spaghetti and Meatballs. The meatballs could use some spicing up and I recommend the chef check out a recipe for South Tyrolean Meatballs for inspiration. Some new staff in training which I always enjoy and appreciate the efforts made during the training process. In this case, the trainer was quite loud and especially so when I asked the bill to be edited to reflect the clearly posted “Special” for the house wine. This request was met with some significant discussion by the staff in a voice which ensured every patron was aware that this request had been made. Even after viewing their chalk board placed at the entry detailing the “Special” the training server still had to check with someone else and instead of going face to face decided to very loudly ask for confirmation from across the room. Not a good experience.

Visiting the Alpena area for our 10th anniversary and The Court Yard was recommended by several people. Madison was our server and she was very attentive and did a great job. We tried the fried mozzarella for an appetizer, very good and the marinara sauce was great! I also had the Salted Caramel cocktail, it was delicious but it sneaks up on you fast! For dinner I had Trotters Steak and my husband had the Italian Mac and Cheese. Both meals were fantastic! The Grecian Cheesecake for dessert was perfect! It was creamy and sweet, but not too sweet. We got it to go since we were stuffed and it was still great several hours later so I can only imagine how good it is fresh!

The bread, lamb, and drinks are very good but the pasta dishes lack seasoning. The pasta dishes that I’ve tried were plated beautifully but the flavor just wasn’t there. The lamb is good and the steak was just ok. If they took a little more time to season the food this place would be better.
