Votre maison loin de chez vous! Who are we? In short, our aim is to serve French comfort food made with fresh, local, seasonal and organic produce. We also trace our produce back to its source so that we always know where, when and how it originated. Although living and cooking in SA for many years Parisian chef Julien Debray never lost his passion for the cuisine he grew up with. Now the time has come to share that passion with you. Here we don’t do what’s fashionable. Here we just do what we do. Come and join us for lunch or diner. We will have something for everyone’s liking but don’t look for an English breakfast, Bobotie or Melktert on our menu. We are a French Brasserie after all. A votre service!

This restaurant isn’t to be missed when you’re in the Swartland
Always highly recommended.
The brasserie is located right on the main road, and by night it truly feels like you’ve stepped into a small village in France. The atmosphere is warm, inviting, and unmistakably French—absolutely delightful.
The menu, which includes some classic French options, was very appealing with a great selection of starters, mains, and desserts. We started with the snails, followed by beef cuts for our main course, and finished off with a tarte tatin. Every dish was beautifully prepared and full of flavor.
The wine list is extensive, with a strong focus on local Swartland wines. We were guided in our choice and were not disappointed—great recommendations all around.
Service was top-notch: professional, attentive, and genuinely friendly. We felt truly welcomed. A lovely touch was the owner stopping by for a chat—two Frenchies crossing paths in a small South African village… of course we talked about food!
Will we be back? Absolutely… and we did, the very next day.
I returned for another fantastic experience, and it did not disappoint. The food was outstanding, and the service matched it perfectly.
To start, I had the springbok terrine—delicious and beautifully presented. For the main course, the springbok shank was tender and full of flavor. And for dessert? The apple tarte tatin was the perfect finish, living up to the high standard set by the rest of the meal.
Can’t wait to come back!
Lovely area to sit outside in such a quirky little town!

The food was superb. It is definitely worth even just a drive from Cape town!!
