First, the environment is amazing, very neat and decent. The aesthetic was lovely. I can see the standard being set for suya joint. The staff are simply amazing, very friendly, respectful, and kind. It is evident they are all trained. They even gave me a sample of kilishi because they don’t have it for me to go.
The wait time was okay with me but my friend that told me about the place waited for an hour. However, he said he will still return. So, the wait is worth the treat.
I got my food to go. My wife was skeptical just like me, but this suya remove all skeptism. The suya is simply real. As soon as you take a bite, you will immediately travel back to Lagos. The taste is wonderful! I have not tasted any other suya in the US like this. Kudos!
The portion is super duper. For the current price list, you’re getting a lot.
I’m very pleased and impressed with this restaurant. My friend told me they have a branch in Houston. I’m so glad we me have one in Atlanta.
I think when I return again, I’ll also do to go.
Yesterday, my husband arrived at approximately 2:00 PM and placed an order for chicken suya, beef suya, ram suya, asun, a suya burger, and jollof rice. He was initially told the wait time would be 10–15 minutes, but the food ultimately took close to an hour to be prepared.
Unfortunately, the quality and seasoning of most of the food did not meet the standard we experienced during our first visit. The meats were noticeably under-seasoned and lacked flavor. The only items we truly enjoyed were the asun and the suya burger. The rice was terrible and shouldn’t even be on the menu. After spending $171 total (including a $22 tip), this was quite disappointing.
I am unsure whether there was a change in cooks or preparation, but the difference between the two visits was significant. Had I not been so familiar with how suya should taste, I would not have known that the seasoning was missing. With additional suya spice at home, I may have been able to salvage the other proteins, but that should not be necessary.
I wanted to share this feedback in hopes that consistency can be improved, as our first experience showed how great the food can be.
Osuma Suya is new to the area so expecting long lines; it’s the inevitable.
I ordered the Suya tacos with fries.
Just 2 things, the suya can be a bit more tender & less salt on the fries. The tacos were delicious. The house made sauce they have perfectly compliments the tacos. The fries were fried to perfection.
8/10 for me. I highly recommend you all to try Osuma Suya & enjoy some great food.
