Secondly, the fries were fine and contained a lot of jackfruit (though the fries were a little undercooked) but the way it was served was bizarre. I had to leave about a third of it because the way it was presented (see photo) meant the paper broke apart and stuck to the cheese and fries. Disappointing.
Lastly, despite booking our table of ten over two weeks ahead of time and arriving at 17:05 (admittedly a few minutes past our time of 17:00), when it came to 18:20 after our mains, we were asked if we wanted dessert or anything else and we said “give us a few minutes?” (as some of our party were in the toilet), but then another staff member came over and said we had to leave/finish our drinks at the bar as “we have another table of ten coming in now”. And it’s like, 90 minutes for a table of ten on a Saturday night that was booked well in advance seems unusual and made us feel rushed. Had we said “yes, can we see the dessert menu?” to the first server, what would have happened?
Again, nine out of the ten people at our table loved it and waxed poetically about the food for the rest of the night but between the rush at the end, my fries absorbing the paper, my missing burger and a few drink orders that needed to be fixed, it wasn’t the best but I’m just assuming it was one of those days.
As a veggie amongst carnivores I was able to enjoy a fabulously delicious meal too. Highly recommend and grate value for money too.
When you enter the restaurant is to the side, of the bar the barman was helpful in taking our booking and could tell we were Firehouse Virgins.
The room has a pretty decent view and looks of tables so can fit quite a few folk.
We opted for the 3 meat platter with smoked sausage, burnt ends and the dino bone. Each one was awesome and the rib meat fell off the bone. Would definitely recommend the corn ribs as a side.
Definitely opt for a pit master specials. The smokey flavor and firehouse BBQ are delicious. The table next to us got wings and tenders which looked epic as well.
The staff were perfectly lovely and helpful and the atmosphere sets the tone for the meats.
There is limited parking, maybe 4 cars can park comfortably at the front. Wheel chairs should be ok as there were no stairs or steep gradients.
For the money you pay the portions are a decent size, the flavour is brilliant and the staff are attentive. Would definitely recommend this to anyone looking for decent bbq in Glasgow.
