i would highly recommend taking their matcha class too! my bf and i took a class for valentine’s day and had a great time. small class of 4 people and we made matcha powder for our own drinks, in addition to being served a flight of drinks! derek had a lot of great information over the history and preparation of matcha.
If you are expecting a super quick thrown together drink this ain’t that. They take the time to hand whisk every drink and it really comes through with the flavor. So give yourself some time if you pop by especially on weekends.
If you get the chance to chat with Cindy or Derek they will gladly tell you about their travels and passion for matcha. They have taught me so much about matcha in convos and on their socials.
I had the rose, the coconut cloud, the strawberry, and the matcha matcha. All were 10s. The ROSE is for sureeee my favorite. I would literally book a trip to Cincinnati just to come back.
The variety of matchas is unreal, and I love that they rotate flavors every two weeks — it keeps things exciting and gives you something new to look forward to every visit. Some standout flavors I’ve loved over the past few months include gingerbread, caramel, eggnog, strawberry, and their banana bread matcha (which deserves its own fan club). If you’re not a fan of matcha, they do have alternatives like the Vietnamese coffee, which I definitely recommend!
Another huge bonus is how they support other small businesses by featuring local pastries in the shop from time to time — everything I’ve tried has been fantastic and pairs perfectly with their matcha.
I’ve definitely become a regular and always find myself excited to see what new flavors they’re rolling out next. If you love matcha (or are curious to try it), Little Matcha is a must-visit.
That said… it didn’t fully hit for me. The matcha had good color but wasn’t as umami or flavorful as I prefer. I can’t drink dairy or oat milk, so I picked their califia farm coconut/almond milk and I just don’t love that flavor. I really wish they had a barista style almond milk option for a creamier texture.
The space itself is super cute with seating in the back, and overall it’s solid – just not my personal favorite but I’m glad I visited.
update 11/4: i’ve come here enough times to truly say that i absolutely love the flavors and taste of this shop’s matcha. i’ve had the banana bread, banana cream brulee, pumpkin cream, vanilla bean, caramel sea salt, strawberry shortcake, coconut water matcha, etc….yeah im a fan. i like how they change their menu biweekly so you are never bored and always anticipating what’s the next new thing to try. the matcha has depth and earthiness to it that is balanced with the slightly sweetened variety they have (i like it this way even tho my friends like the OG matcha!). i also really like their viet coffee, it tastes exactly like how i had it in vietnam in those family owned cafes…and gets me going through the day
