The atmosphere in the restaurant is really nice, but I personally don’t like the pizzas here. I’ve tried this place twice now and both times I didn’t like the food. Looking further into it, I think it might be from the dough. It’s too thin & leaves an odd taste in my mouth.

I come here couple times per year. Whether visiting in town or hanging around for awhile. Past visits I remember super thin crust with lots of mushrooms and whatever toppings ordered. Today I make more dairy-free choices. Ordering without cheese seemed like it’d hurt some partial magic of the pizza. It didn’t! I appreciate the crust more than ever now. Also, the flavor of the sauce jumps out more. Different experience in a good way! Totally recommend trying it!

Haven’t been to Pierre’s pizza palace, but if Frank’s grandson does as good as his grandpa did, it has to be good. Loved the beef sandwiches and my husband loved their pizza’s. Always packed with a waiting line. Sad, to see Whitey passed away this year. He was a staple there since he was in high school and worked there his entire life time. Heard this place wasn’t open & had to check it out. Shows it’s open. Wishing the new owner the best of luck

Wonderful food and terrific service. The location is larger than it appears from the outside. The pizza is a crispy thin crust that has a fired/smokey crust. The sauce is good but not overpowering. The cheese is well balanced with the meats. A great choice for vegetarians — or anyone — is the margharita pizza with fresh tomatoes, fresh basil, and fresh mozzarella. You can stand outside and watch them make the pizzas through the windows. Their building vent goes directly to the street so it smells heavenly just walking past the building. My two young daughters and I sat at the front counter waiting for a to-go order and they gave the girls two balls of pizza dough to play with while we waited. Then they put the dough into paper bags so the girls could keep playing with it at home. Always a wonderful time there.

Cons: the pizza is extremely expensive. They also do not keep to their posted hours. Several times my fiance and I have tried to go there to eat around 10 PM on nights when they are open until 11:30, only to find them in the process of closing down or already closed.
Final Opinion: if you have money to spare and are willing to wait for your food during their peak dining time, you’ll enjoy yourself. However, if you’re trying to be frugal or want to eat later at night, there are better options out there.

I had heard good things but honestly, I was disappointed. Prices are just ridiculous (Any extra topping is 2.75, soda refills are almost $1 each). The pizza tastes decent but the crust is thin so that you can eat a lot to fill up. I ate by myself and for a pizza and soda I paid $27.50 after tip and I had a small snack of pizza left to take home. Less than 1 and half meals for $27.50 for just decent pizza? In Appleton? Additionally, youre not paying for the ambiance, it’s very low quality decor. Oh and you better have cash or check, they don’t take credit cards. They do have an ATM though where they charge $2. Just feels like you’re being taken advantage of.

Way to crowded! Had to bus our own table so we would have a place to sit. Took forever for a server to even acknowledge us.Then only brought half of us waters. Forgot our garlic bread order. Salad bar had more food on the ice then in the bowls. Extremely understaffed waitstaff. Lack of communication between us and or server was less to be desired. The quality of the food was not all that amazing either:/

Nice looking palace inside but the pizza crust was limp and oily. The tables are also way too close to each other for my comfort. Could hardly get out of my chair without bumping into other sitting customers. Be sure to practice your wild hand gestures if you need drink refills.

Best pizza in Appleton—maybe the best pizza in the world. I’ve traveled around the world and lived in different major cities in the U.S., and this is still my favorite. Hand-tossed thin crust, fresh sauce, Wisconsin cheese, tons of herbs—all perfect. From the time capsule midcentury facade and interior to the homemade sausage, I love everything about this joint. The throwback vibe goes all the way to the register—cash only—so be prepared. I’ve been eating here for 30+ years and I plan on continuing my patronage for 30+ years to come!

UNBELIEABLY bad. Poor Poor Service and mediocre food. Lead waitress has got each of the other two waitresses boondoghled; the other two waitresses get permission for each and every move. A managerial text book example that is a set up for failure. When asking the lead waitress something she tells you that they are short waitresses and I would just have to be patient. Asking for a second beer took ten minutes because she forgot the request. We were there almost two hours start to finish. The pizza was mediocre and the prices were astronomical. I cannot believe this place survives. Suggestion- remove lead waitress, improve the pizza or close.
