We really liked the Lakes Tavern and have gone to it many times. But since the owner built the Riverside Tavern they have jacked up the prices for their food a lot and their drink prices as well. Last year my wife and had a very nice steak and shrimp dinners that now the prices has gone from around $28 to $34 for shrimp and the steaks are now at $51 and $56. We may stop by for a burger but we can still get affordable dinners else where. You don’t make a high end restaurant, just by increasing the prices!

Great experience! Our server was so sweet and constantly checked on us. Food came out pretty quickly. My fiancé got the blackened grouper and it was phenomenal. I got the seafood linguini and it was very rich and creamy. We typically have leftovers but we couldn’t get enough and finished it relatively quickly. Definitely recommend!!

So… People have been telling me to go to the Lakes Tavern for a while now. Finally stopped in for a late lunch. I can report that their food is EXCELLENT. Probably the best grouper sandwich I’ve ever had in minnesota. The cajun spices were strong but not overpowering. The fish was perfectly cooked. The roll it was served on was soft and chewy. If toasted it would be even better. Their walleye sandwich was very good also. And i appreciate the fries or onion rings included in the base price. Both sandwiches were accompanied by a very good Ranch Water – which for some reason unknown to me – are hard to find up north here. Staff was very attentive and friendly. 10/10 will be back again soon

NOT regular “bar food” and it’s delicious! Lots of FRESH VEGGIES!! Fresh quality Thai salad, amazingly delicious and fresh green coconut curry with stick jasmine rice, great Ahi options, and even Scotch eggs!! Don’t get my husband going on the wings-he and my brother ordered another plate of the Thai wings they were so good. There ARE regular bar food options too and look very well done (we didn’t have any). They were SO kind to our dog on the patio and so helpful with menu, table, shade, bright water for our pooch without being asked, and food came quickly given the fresh quality. I personally loved that there were several options for gluten free and several o could make vegetarian.

Awesome food and atmosphere. My husband got the Thai chicken bowl I got the grilled Chicken salad with Blue cheese walnuts and the best dressing I’ve ever had! Delicious and great service, too! We enjoyed our visit!

One of my new favorite spots! Their food is absolutely amazing, and great portions for the price. Heard of this place, decided to go, and have already been back 3 more times since. The service has been amazing every time, everyone is so friendly! The atmosphere is very cool as well, can’t wait to go in the summer time to enjoy the patio!

Crab cakes burnt on the outside and mush in the middle. Alfredo dish was like a soup and all of it tasted frozen and heated up. Flank steak was just sad. Ordered a margarita and I could see through it. All alcohol. Returned it and asked for water. Waitress brought it back and said it was fixed. Still couldn’t drink it. Again asked for water. Still got charged for it. We will never go back.
