This Haitian restaurant truly feels like home! The atmosphere is warm and welcoming, and the staff is very friendly. The food tastes just like it does back in Haiti full of flavor and made with love. As a vegan, I was thrilled to find options like diri djondjon (black mushroom rice), akra (malanga fritters), banane peze vert (fried green plantains), and refreshing passion fruit juice. Everything was delicious and authentic. It’s not always easy to find Haitian restaurants with vegan options, so this place is definitely a gem. I highly recommend it for anyone looking for a real taste of Haiti!

I came here based on the great reviews, but it was a pretty disappointing experience. I ordered the stewed beef with rice and plantains, and nothing really stood out in a good way. The rice was extremely dry, and the beef was tough, chewy, and full of fat and gristle. The plantains were fine, but they couldn’t save the meal.
On top of that, the service wasn’t great. The woman behind the counter was a bit rude, which only made the experience worse. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place or go back. Definitely not worth the hype IMO.

The food was delicious! However my plate did not come with plaintains like helloooo lol authentic Haitian food comes with plaintains and picklis which I also did not receive. I ended up buying a side order of plaintains But other than that food tastes awesome!

Stopped in to try some Haitian food and it was great. I Had 3 different meals, fried pork, and a small stewed beef and vegetable stew with beef. The full meals were 15$ for a full container of food and rice and a couple freshly fried plantains. The small bowl of vegetable stew was on the house because they wanted me to try a lot. Haha. The Beans and rice were great and I used some extra sauce on the side from the stewed beef which was very tasty. The Fried pork was awesome, it was nice and crispy along with the golden fat covered pork. It came with some nice fresh onions and peppers, it added some color too.
The young men and women working wre very friendly and nice. They helped us by explaining what the food was and how it was cooked, all with a big joyful smile.
I did not see and desserts or Haitian drinks, that would be a great addition.
I will definitely be stopping in again! Thank you for the great tasting food!

AJW is the only Haitian spot in the whole capital region in NYS. You, guys, represent the culture with pride. I loved every bites of my “Duri ak legume” and my wife enjoyed her ” griyo”.

Review as a delivery driver. I arrived about the same time my order was supposed to be picked up. When I arrived they hit ready to pick up on there end then told me it’ll be a few minutes. They then only started to make the order. The restaurant doesn’t start preparing your order until you arrive so be prepared to wait well past when your order was supposed to be picked up.

This was my first time having Haitian food and I loved it! I ordered the black rice, stewed goat, and plantain. The staff were super friendly and welcoming- it’s nice to see a Haitian restaurant in the area. I highly recommend this restaurant and will definitely be back to try the other food.

I was so excited when a Haitian restaurant opened in Albany. I grew up in Queens so I have loved Haitian food for years. When I finally visited AJW Caribbean Restaurant, I decided on a classic meal: griot (fried pork chunks), diri djon djon (black mushroom rice), banane (fried plantain) and champagne cola soda. It came with a delicious sauce for dipping your griot and pikliz which is like a pickled cole slaw that burns your mouth. It was all delicious! It was enough to eat for dinner that day and lunch the next day. And it cost less than $25.00.
