Came for brunch. Food was great, bartender was willing to accommodate my request for a specific drink, and the waitress was darling. Would recommend for an outing with friends.

The food was great. The brussel spouts were awesome. We enjoyed the beautiful breeze from the sound. The DJ was on point lol. We look forward to our next visit.

Outstanding place. There are wonderful views. The food is pretty tasty. The price is fine for a upscale restaurant. The staff were careful. Definitely the dest place to eat in town. There are enough parking space for customers.

Nice place on the River to enjoy a drink or meal with a nice view. Things run on river time here so don’t expect to run in and out.

We thoroughly enjoyed this restaurant. The setting is historic and beautiful. The food…wow! My husband and I ordered the fried calamari, and it was so fresh, crispy and seasoned to perfection. Next, we shared the Captain’s Platter. It was more than enough for the 2 of us. This dish was so flavorful and delicious. We were both very satisfied. I must add, the staff are extremely friendly. We live about an hour away, but will definitely visit The 51 House again!!!

First visit. Went for our Anniversary. Restaurant was not busy as only a few tables were seated before us. Server was great. Ordered Oysters Rocky Balboa as an appetizer. Their spin on these were good. I ordered prime rib, medium rare and “Our” gratin potatoes. Wife ordered bacon wrapped scallops. After a very, very length wait the food arrived room temperature at best. Prime rib was done through out, not even near medium rare. Wife’s seafood plate was entirely at room temperature. Not what we expected out of a Trip Advisor recommended restaurant! Probably our one and only visit!

Had a party of 4, no reservations, and it was a Saturday night. They were busy, and looked very rushed. I ordered prime rib rare. It took 2 hours for the food to find ally come out, and the prime rib was well done, roast beef well done.
In those 2 hours the waitress never came and told me they were out of rare slices. So I ordered the fillet medium rare, no fillet cuts left. So I got a salad… the food was good, what I did eat, it was presented lovely, but very frustrating the chef didn’t let the staff know what cuts were available before waiting 2 HOURS for a meal! Absolutely ridiculous. Gave it 3 stars because what I did eat was great and the waitress and manager tried to make it better. Will eat there again, just having a snack before I go.

We have been several times to 51 house. In the beginning the food was wonderful. However as of late it has been disappointing. If you get Dianne as a waitress you will be well cared for however I haven’t had her the past few times we were there. Our first bad experience was a dinner. We waited quite a while and food was mediocre at best. As others have said no taste. Most recently we went for their Sunday brunch buffet. The buffet was very odd and nothing seemed to go together. Items included: soup, potato salad, biscuits and gravy, French toast and sausage, sweet potato hash and fried chicken wings, ham steak with pineapple, baked cod and a prime rib carving station. There were also desserts one resembling a canned fruit cup in a martini glass. You could also get omelettes to order. My father ordered one and it never came. When we inquired the waitress said the kitchen was backed up. Then took his order again. It finally came after we were all finished. I assume she never put the order in. We did not complain because we had a wedding to get to and just needed to eat. Drinks are not included in the buffet so my family of 3 spent over 70.00. Definitely not worth that. I don’t think we will be back. I would leave a review on Facebook however that feature seems to be removed which is sad. You can only improve by hearing what people have to say not sticking your head in the sand.

Very beautiful venue, service and food are excellent. They also have an upstairs event space that is beautiful with a tin stamped ceiling.

Went there with my husband and his parents. Only one other couple in the whole place but the service was still extremely slow. My husband ordered a shrimp platter and the shrimp was RAW! They did not apologize or try in anyway to make it better. They did take his platter off the order. Our drinks were not refilled, and we finally had to get up and pay our bill in the front. No worth the price.
