This is a special message cuz uncle wasn’t working Friday, my day off. We drove special to eat Agnes’ Malasadas only to be told by the young man behind the window at 12:43 he was closed down already, “Sorry, I already took my last customer.” At 12:43?? Ok, guess that’s so he could go home one o’clock, when they technically close. Sorry I made the special trip. Sorry that’s not what the sign says. Shame Kailua.

the best malassadas we’ve ever had! we were in town visiting for vacation and were recommended by a local and they did not disappoint. You can call ahead and they’ll be ready in 15 minutes so hot & fresh. highly recommend!

Agnes’ Portuguese Bakeshop is a MUST TRY spot on island. If you’ve never heard of what a malasada is, this is where you should build your understanding of what they are. The service is impeccable, Noah and Bella were very kind and the malasadas themselves were absolutely delicious. Ever so slightly crunchy on the outside, and warm and fluffy on the inside. It’s like biting into a warm sugary cloud!
What really separates Agnes’ from other popular spots like Leonard’s, is that they make every malasada FRESH TO ORDER!!! Doesn’t get much better than that, biting into a hot and fresh malasada is unbeatable. However since they are made fresh to order, I’d recommend calling and ordering at least 10-15 minutes ahead so that you don’t have to wait.
Overall great experience!! The food truck has a cute old dainty vibe to it and there’s a nice seating area to enjoy the food. The only issue I have with Agnes’ is that there isn’t one on the mainland! Would love to get these out in California.

The Best malasadas hands down! I frequented the bakery years ago when i lived on the island and was sad to hear it shut. But was overjoyed to see they had a food truck. Never been so happy on this visit. Made fresh to order. Can’t leave the parking lot without eating one. Will return every trip. Love Agnes’

The shop itself has a cozy, old-school vibe, but it could use some updates to feel more inviting. Service was friendly but a bit slow, and the selection of baked goods was more limited than I anticipated. I love Agnes’ malasadas! They are so good when you can eat them right away while they’re hot and tasty! My family and I like to take them to the beach. It’s the perfect snack while watching the ocean.

Had some amazing malasadas without driving around the island and it was located close to use. We had them fresh out of the box. The worker was amazing and super nice. He was very helpful and very happy to help. Next time we come we will try to hit this place up when we get here so we can get it a second time before we head home.
