We had to wait for long time once seated. I’m guessing new staff/under staffed. Both Bathrooms had a sewage scent coming out and needed more bathroom scents to cover it up. Disappointed in the drink being so small, glass was only half full so it just felt overpriced for a $10 mocktail. Food was great, server was super polite and respectful. Would try again but feel the need to mention these things.

I came here after touring the Spam Museum in Austin, MN. There were a few restaurants nearby that had Spam things on their menu, but this Spam burger really drew me in. I had to try it. So we walked down the street a little bit and settled in.
Ambiance was nice. It had kind of a whiskey bar vibe, and also a classic downtown restaurant that was built as a modern restaurant into the old brick facade of a downtown. I liked it.
Service was great! The server we had was very nice and prompt. I did accidently receive a cocktail, though, instead of the mocktail I ordered, so just be careful with that, but everything else was great.
As for the food, I got the SPAM® Burger (4 oz House Ground Beef Patty, Grilled SPAM®, Pineapple Relish, Provolone, Teriyaki Aoli, Toasted Bun). This was fun. The patty was cooked well, the SPAM had nice grill marks on it. The relish was welcome, but there needed to be more of it. The burger was super salty, and the relish needed to help cut that.
I also got to try the Kimchi Rueben (12 Hour House Roasted Corned Beef, Swiss Cheese, Kimchi Slaw, Thousand Island Dressing, Toasted Rye Bread). This was really fun. Very delicious corned beef that paired perfectly with the tangy, funky kimchi. Never had this before. Never even thought of it. I loved it.
Overall, this was a very nice meal. I love finding great little restaurants in little towns.

We had a great evening at Downtown Grill in Austin. Our host/server was very nice and friendly. We came in about an hour before closing, and they were very attentive and accommodating, which we really appreciated. The appetizers and drinks were excellent, my husband loved his meal, and my pasta was a little lacking but still good overall. We would definitely return!

We gave this place a second try. Disappointed again. The lunch bill came to 56 dollars for 2 people and the food was mediocre, at best. The service is also mediocre. It felt like greasy spoon food and service at a high end price. Never again for us.

Every single time I come in I know the service and the food will be top notch. As someone that’s been in the industry for 15 years I am relatively picky with where I go to eat. Same prices as everywhere else with a much higher quality. This is the place to go in Austin.

Husband and I are in love with this restaurant. First of all, they’re the only place in town that can make a French 75. Second, every establishment here in Austin has nice people, but I feel like the staff at Downtown Grill are also genuinely caring, not just doing a job. Thirdly, everything we ordered was at expert level on the foodie scale, minus the pretension. We will definitely be back as often as our going-out fund allows!

Stopped here for lunch and were very pleasantly impressed with the restaurant and Austin as a town. Got some burgers that tasted great. Breakfast burger would be my recommendation, sweet potato fries were also delicious.
Staff members are very nice and accommodating.
