Food overpriced, lacking cooking experience & execution!!
Being in the area and with a desire for steak and eggs this new restaurant popped up on DoorDash. I went to the restaurant as I had questions & was ordering food for myself as well as someone allergic to seafood. I purchased the Steak & Eggs with French Toast & Soul Platter: fish, cabbage, Mac & Cheese, Cake, Cornbread to go around 4:30pm when the restaurant was dead. I did not receive my food till 6pm.
The T-bone steak was overcooked; I ordered medium rare to medium. Asked my egg yolks to be a little runny 3 times; provided as over-hard. They provided me pancakes instead of French toast without asking me. 2 additional substitutions from menu was informed to me after purchase that they did inform of; chocolate cake instead of velvet cake & rolls instead of cornbread.
Unfortunately the chocolate cake was 1 of the few good things about this restaurant. They had welcoming energy, black owned business, clean establishment. But after ordering the transition to kitchen is out of whack. The bartender was a lady who was very friendly and seemed knowledgeable in questions. If she would, best to let her be an expeditor because there is no way to excuse the amount of challenges the kitchen is facing. Fix it Now; before there isn’t later!

Brand new black owned business focuses on soul food and service. A full bar with good amount of seating. I sat a the bar and the staff was very attentive. The wings and mozzarella sticks for appetizers wwre great. They had wla wide selection of alcohol choices which was impressive for a new spot. Check the pictures for more

we waited over an hour to receive our food. the wait was so bad the tables next to us left. when our food finally came it wasn’t even hot. the sweet potatoes might as well have been mashed potatoes. the lasagna had way too much meat for my liking. the catfish and green beans were okay. it honestly was not worth the wait or $35. def would not recommend this is not restaurant quality food.

This was better than I expected. I ordered the wing basket and slinger. They gave me so much food it was unbelievable. The osner also came to our table and g as ve us a huge cinnamon roll for desert at no charge. It’s great to have a place that makes you feel special. I’ll be there every week!!!

Everything was amazing! When no one was willing to hold space for me and a part of 13 on Valentine’s Day/ Mardi Gras weekend, they were. The added touches like the massive fruit tray were the icing on the cake. The food was delicious and the service was top notch. Highly recommended, so grateful for everyone on this staff.

Went for the Thursday happy hour, didn’t know what to expect because it had just opened but was quickly impressed by the service by the drinks and the food. I will definitely be back because two top shelf drinks and a full size appetizer for $30 in this economy is a win. Gave service 4 stars Because if they pre-batch a couple drinks, they might be able to work a little bit more efficiently

I really wanted to like this place, but the overall experience was extremely chaotic. There was no sense of organization and it showed in every part of the visit. The food consistency is not up to par I got the Philly and I looked nothing like the photo advertised on facebook. what you get seems to change depending on the day, which makes it hard to trust the menu. The drink menu was especially confusing instead of a proper menu. It was basically a printed Gmail style list of drinks which felt very unprofessional and disorganized. The barstools are not big body friendly at all, making the Bar, uncomfortable and unwelcoming for many guests such as myself on top of that the music was overly loud and obnoxious, making conversation difficult. I could hardly hear the server Cam. Who was exceptional. Also the parking is another major issue. There’s no real safe place to park without worrying about your car, getting broken into it, which adds unnecessary stress to the experience. Overall, I wouldn’t recommend this place

All the above was terrible. Nothing seemed to flow , no one felt professional or trained. Is this establishment even real ? Way too many uninteresting menu items, reminiscent of urban late night or a knock of such, masked as fine dining. Probably should have hookah options and a DJ for a more authentic experience.

We sat at the bar only to be handled a crumbled up piece of paper for a menu which was printed from somebody’s Gmail account. It was a running list of random types of drinks, such as “Red wine, martini, margarita, vodka tonic…” No ingredients listed just “martini.” I was disappointed. Staff had loud ongoing side conversations, cussing and laughing. We had to pay for parking. Chairs at the bar looked nice but they didn’t seem very sturdy. I just was not impressed at all. Maybe go back in a year when they pull it together.
