I usually visit the Jimmy John’s on Clark Road in Sarasota, and they are always quick, friendly, and truly live up to the “Freaky Fast” motto. Unfortunately, my experience today at the Venice location was completely different.
The drive-thru speaker wasn’t working properly (I was told the car wash next door interferes with it), so I had to drive around to the window just to place my order. Even after that, the service was much slower than expected. What stood out most, though, was the lack of customer service. The employee who helped me was rude and seemed irritated, and the two other staff members didn’t appear any more welcoming. There was no friendliness or sense of urgency—just a “here for a paycheck” attitude.
I understand that every store can have an off day, but this location did not reflect the Jimmy John’s brand I’m used to. Right now, it feels less like “Freaky Fast” and more like just another sandwich shop.
I hope management takes a closer look at this location, because the difference between this store and the Clark Road store is truly night and day.
And they still put tomato on my sandwich.

My first time ever got the Little John that was just the right size for me
The bread a 10 soft and crisp ( not toasted) the meat was just two thin slices
They have their own brand of chips that were excellent thick BBQ very good

Went to the drive-thru ordered me a tie and sub. And was handed someone else’s order. No mayo no tomatoes no onion salt and vinegar chips and a Coke the sandwich was god-awful because it was so dry I ordered it with everything The chips I did not order the Coke I did not order I cannot drink carbonated drinks what a joke.

Editing review: I still go here and they have consistently had the wheat bread I have become dangerously addicted to. Their rating goes back up to 5 stars! Thanks Jimmy John 🙂
First, complaint: 3 out of 6 trips here they have not had wheat bread. It is 4:27pm why would they be out of bread? Just a little frustrating because it is sooo good.
Second, cheers: Staff has been friendly and have enjoyed the food when it was available.

Very disappointed with their sandwiches. I wanted all cheese
My sandwich had two thin pieces of provolone on it and the rest was lettuce and cucumber. I felt like I was eating a lettuce sandwich. Couldn’t even taste the cheese. Another sandwich had about 2 pieces of turkey. The roast beef had a little more meat in it than the turkey. Could they spare the cheese and turkey? The pictures on the menu look filled with meat but that’s nothing like what we received. The roll was delicious. We won’t be returning.

Passive aggressive employees. Bread was tough, sandwich was bland. All sandwiches are served cold. Only one kind of cheese available (provolone). Not their fault but they share an entrance with the new car wash so it’s a nightmare getting in and out. The chips and cookie were good tho
