On vacation in Bradenton with my wife and two kids, I did what any self-respecting pizza lover would do and searched for New Haven-style pizza. That search led me to Dan’s APIZZ Man.
I’ll admit, I was skeptical. I’m a bit of a pizza snob and I’ve actually been to New Haven more than once. But Dan absolutely lives up to the name. I knew within 30 seconds of chatting with him it was going to be good. I was wrong. It was honestly one of the best pies I have had. The crust had that perfect char and chew, the balance of sauce and cheese was spot-on, and the whole pie had that unmistakable apizza personality.
After this visit, I don’t feel the need to try any other pizza spots down here. When I’m back in Bradenton visiting my mom, this will be a mandatory stop.
It was the perfect bookend to a great family vacation. Well done; pun completely intended.
PS: my preferred pie is a simple tomato pie. No photos of that one. It was half eaten before we thought to take a photo like a true millennial.

The absolute BEST pizza in Florida if not the entire country! There is a reason Dan has the amount of 5 star reviews he does, from the ingredients used to the care taken creating and cooking the pie, it truly deserves every bit of the 5 star rating! Do not try this pizza unless you are ready for a new favorite!

We had the pleasure of meeting Dan and his crew at Sun King Brewery in Sarasota. After talking to him, he said they make their pizza from Italian flower and all natural ingredients. And let me tell you, you can definitely tell. It’s probably the best pizza I’ve had in Sarasota and they sell out FAST. I’m so glad I came across this food truck and I cannot wait to try another one of their delicious pies!!

We have eaten many types of pizza from all different places and this place is a top contender. The staff were kind and explained a little bit about the pizza. The style of pizza they do is a thin crust, made extra done but the crust still had a little bit of a chew to it. It was perfect! They let us know that this pizza is meant to be eaten as soon as it is served. Which was not a problem because it looked so delicious, we didn’t want to wait! I can’t wait to try other topping combinations on our next visit.

If you’re looking for authentic New Haven style pizza in Sarasota, this is the spot! The crust is thin, perfectly charred, and has that amazing chewy texture you can only get from a real high heat oven. The sauce is flavorful and balanced the toppings are super fresh. Every bite tastes like classic East Coast pizza done right.

Who would’ve guessed that the best pizza I’ve ever had would be from a food truck? Certainly not me, but man am I happy about it. The flavor of the sauce was second to none, and the crust was perfect. I do not think improvements could be made to this pizza. I recommend you try the Margherita and the Tomato pies. I am a firm believer that food is a form of art, and brother- this man is an artist. A passionate master of his craft. Please support this business!!!

Today was our first time experiencing Dan Apizz pizza. Not only was Dan so warm and welcoming but the pizza was simply the best pizza my wife and I have had in Sarasota. The staff at the brewery were so friendly and the beer was awesome. We arrived early so we definitely would get a pizza. It’s is so popular that they run out of pizzas. Pizza lovers don’t miss out on this hidden gem.

I have been living in Sarasota for the last 40+ years and I still miss the pizza from Pittsburgh when I was a kid. Dan’s pizza is as good or better than anything, but I’ve ever gotten in Pittsburgh. I’ve never been to New Haven, but his pizza makes me wanna go.
For years, I have lived with mediocre pizza. There’s no such thing as bad pizza but I have never experienced good pizza on the West Coast of Florida. Until now.
My life is complete knowing that I can get his pizza at the farmers market on Saturday mornings or at the bar during the week in the evenings. I can’t say enough about how cool these guys are and how much they love what they do, and it shows with this amazing pizza.
