My husband and I have been driving past this place for 4 years!! The last time I had a hotdog it was from a place…(I won’t name) but it was awful. From the moment we walked in it was very welcoming. He gave us free shave ice which was also really good (Lemon and Black Cherry) ! My hotdog was delicious & my husband loved his Chicago dog, Everything was fresh and we’re definitely going back.

Classic hot dog joint. The char dogs were solid! I’m leaving this review because I witnessed the staff going above and beyond to help an elderly customer get up and put on his coat so he could leave. I just thought they should get a shoutout for that. I watched the guy come out of the kitchen to do so. Good people!

Teddy’s Red Hots has truly been taken to new heights under the new ownership. The menu improvements are incredible, the food is fresh, and the quality is outstanding. Their Italian beef sandwiches are some of the best I’ve ever had. On top of that, the friendly and welcoming service is unbeatable. Highly recommend stopping by. YOU won’t be disappointed!

Really good burgers and hot dogs! Friendly and quick. Looking forward to trying other items on the extensive menu! They even brought out a flavored ice for my granddaughter to try. So sweet! Nice place with kids.

It had been up to a couple decades ago since I’ve been in here. Learn there was a new owner a year ago, very friendly along with his staff. Enjoyed an Italian beef dipped, hot, crinkle cut fries and excellent cheese sauce for them. I look forward to additional visits to get some hotdogs and some Italian ice.

Beep; Boop Beep’s! OBC is from Downers Grove and for the better part of 15 years all I’ve heard about is Teddy’s Red Hots and their delicious fries. So within ~20 minutes of our flight landing we found ourselves here for her tastebuds to take a walk down memory lane. While I will admit, the fries and onion rings were pretty darn good, that wasn’t the jaw-dropping part of the experience. Many others have commented as to it and it gets a little more personal when you are the one forking over $19 for a side of fries, onion rings and fountain beverage. I suppose it’s all relative, the poor dude behind me (btw, he entered wealthy and exited poor) got shaken down for $55 for 3 burger and fries for his kids. I sensed he was surprised too, then they gave him the total he gasped “$55?! Holy $h!t!…” I’m not certain how much revenue Teddy lost during any sort of Covid shut down, but he’ll have made it all back in no time at this torrid pace.
On the plus side, the staff was friendly, place was clean and the portions were “giant” as the menu stated; yet so were the prices. Heck, there was a steady stream of people so God bless ya, Teddy. Get it while you can, sir.

Unfortunate that their 2 hot dog special is 14.99. Not worth it. I ordered everything and they didn’t even come with sport peppers. If they were out they should have said something. Guy at the counter seemed nice. Ordered the cherry Italian ice and cost me 24 bucks total. Too many other hot dogs joints to come

Haven’t been here in 30+ years. I’m glad it’s still around. Their hot dogs are great! Little pricey but it was worth it. The cashier gentleman was very friendly and very accommodating.

Stayed in Downer’s Grove for the week for some concerts in Chicago and was looking for a spot near the hotel with a good Italian beef without having to battle traffic to head back downtown. Well Teddy’s took care of that, delicious and just what I was looking for! Next time I hope to try their Chicago dogs as well. Thank you Teddy’s! Great food!

I’ve only had the char dogs here and they’re absolutely unreal. They are a little pricey, but you get what you pay for. Be sure if you ask for extra mustard you ask for extra extra extra mustard but other than that, they were outstanding.
