A really super nice place, but the service was not fantastic. The waiter started out super friendly, but then checked on us once and asked if we needed anything, which we said we did. But I think what she really meant was do you need anything because I’m not gonna bring it to you. So frustrating on thatbecause we never got drink refills or the side that we asked for. She seemed attentive when it came to money and getting the food to us, that’s about it very cute and the food was very good.

Quaint bar scene but the whining bartender and waitresses complaining about their hours, and lives in general were a huge turnoff. We sat there a an hour and half listening to four of them rattling on about a bunch of nothing. Super annoying.

However the food was the biggest let down. Their messy burger was just another burger. Worst yet was the so called calamari. It was without a doubt frozen version that was rubbery and chewy. We didn’t eat it after a bite each. The funny part was when they said the “chef” would be notified about our displeasure. LMAO! Fyi… you don’t need a chef to dump it out of a plastic freezer bag into a deep fryer.

Maybe stop in for a drink but def eat somewhere where they actually make an effort to cook good food.

We’d like to go back but we are not sure……Hubby’s burger was so under seasoned and it came out rare when he asked for medium and so was the coleslaw (almost like there was none) My crab cakes and remoulade were good but the corn skillet veggies (there’s no skillet) were terrible…again next to no seasoning and there was an over abundance of raw red onion so it was inedible. My dish also came with 3 asparagus that were the fattest I’ve ever seen and some tasty hush puppies.
********I’m hoping management sees this…when we asked our waitress for a recommendation as to what to eat, she replied with, ‘I have food taste like a young child so I don’t know. The burger is good’
This is not the representation you want in a food staff person.

An old favorite of mine at an old classic, Pinehurst’s original hotel! I have come here so many times throughout my life, and I highly recommend the amazing Shirley Temple’s they serve here! You also get a nice helping of what I guess are kettle chips with each meal! Both indoor and outdoor seating are available.

Ambiance!!! The fish & chips were so delicious! My husband had a hefty turkey sandwich that he enjoyed as well. Homemade fries. Super service. Love the homemade chips served as soon as we arrived. This will be a regular spot for us.

Great spot for lunch or dinner! Cozy space indoors but beautiful outdoor area with tasty pub style food. The service provided by Areli was memorable, attentive, and personable. Thank you.

Added 20% service charge to the entire bill but you still need tip on top of that. No warning whatsoever about the charge. Ordered a regular drink and they gave me a double for some reason, exorbitant prices. Food quality was average. Not worth the extra 20% Bartender was hard to understand and somewhat deceitful

Wow!!! Very cute historic hotel. The Tavern is one of a couple places to eat here. The staff, from the hostee, to the waitress were very friendly and helpful. The food was out of this world. Sadly I forgot to take a picture but the presentation on the Chicken Fried Chicken was very well done. That dish and the Penne Pasta with Chicken were both excellent. I had hot blueberry cobbler with homemade blueberry ice cream…it was Heaven with every spoonful. We have been living in Pinehurst since May and have been trying every place around. The Tavern for their tasty food is our #1 thus far. We will be back very soon.

Stopped in for a drink and an appetizer at the bar. The drinks were excellent with 3 local Carolina beers on tap. Our calamari appetizer was excellent and our bartender was helpful and welcoming. And the bar and patio are both pretty cool spots to hang out.
