Excellent sandwich counter with reasonable prices. The chicken salad on rye is the best chicken salad ever for like $10. The Curry Tuna salad is also very good. Sandwiches are stacked high, with fresh ingredients, vegetables and fresh homemade bread. Try to get there early because it gets busy around lunch time. Great little store with unique beer and wine options, fresh brewed coffee and a lot more. This place is a gem.

Awesome spot for sandwiches and you can build your own. Open kitchen, prepared salads and sandwiches, order at the counter, BYO options, super friendly staff. No indoor seating, only a couple benches outside makes it a grab and go situation. Can’t miss!!

They turn out the best sandwiches! Make your own or order from their board, morning or lunchtime. A true Charlotte staple!!

I regret to drop a star. I also loath negative reviews… that said, after like 15years of sandwiches, the quality of ingredients has changed. They probably got a new distributer or something and it’s likely not their fault. It’s changed. I love Marty and everyone who works there. Sometimes the tomatoes are not great.

i went here at peak lunch hour so the wait in line was 20 minutes and i can say with absolute certainty it was worth the wait!!! i ordered the milanesa torta which was so delicious, the bread was super crispy and the milanesa was perfectly cooked, very flavorful. i usually dont like tomatos but this torta made them delicious! my sister ordered the number 11, which in her words was ” really good!” will absolutely be coming again but maybe not during peak lunch! definitely recommend visiting!

After hearing plenty of good things about this place, I finally decided to stop by recently and get some breakfast sandwiches.
The layout of the market makes it a little crowded. There’s no seating, so all food is taken to go. You order at the deli counter and then pay separately at the cashier.
I got ordered an Americano on an everything bagel, a Mercado, and a Torta. The Torta was a little dry. The Mercado was probably my favorite and the Americano was also good. I wouldn’t get a bagel again—it was quite chewy.
The service here was not good. I got a Mercado on a plain bagel instead of the Americano on an everything bagel. They also didn’t give me the Torta and I had to re-order. When they take your order, they don’t write it down or ask for a name/give you a number. There’s a ton of confusion about whose order it is when it’s ready. There’s also no good way to check your order is right because the sandwiches are wrapped up.
The food was pretty good, but given the chaos of ordering, I would have to try to come on a less busy day.

Out of towner looking for a grab and go spot before a medical appointment in the area. Google reviews lead me to this spot and I’m so glad it did! Wonderful hole in the wall vibe with candy, baked goods, huge coffee selection, and most importantly amazing sandwiches. Make the stop! You won’t be disappointed.

Good for to-go sandwiches. Call ahead especially around meal time as there can be quite a line. This place is basically a deli counter combined with a higher-end convenience store.

Great breakfast and delicious sandwiches, both cold & hot, on a great menu. They have snacks, drinks, wine & beer and very good coffee—6 flavors to choose from. There is also ice cream and other sundries. Very busy on weekend mornings, with long lines for the deli.
