Perfect small town dinner. Food was outstanding and everything else as one would expect. I did enjoy the few ideas they have for sale in a back area. Would of liked to of seen something for sale a little more local art or jams and candles. I definitely would of bought one. My sister and I stopped in for lunch.

Great portions, hot and fresh! Staff was friendly! This is not the place to stop at if you’re looking for something to be served super fast but if you have the time, they’re surely worth the wait. Reminded me of the small town restaurant in the movie, Sweet Home Alabama. Give them a try! Will definitely be back! ♥️

We used to go get french fries every lunchtime in high school back in the 80s from this diner, and it was great back then. I took a couple of my children back to serene to go visit some of the old haunts and we stopped in here for some lunch, and it hasn’t changed. Great food, great service and just all-around great atmosphere. I will be back again.

I went here for brunch with a friend of mine and you get huge portions for what you pay so it’s a great value. The service was good, but the place is a little bit run-down. I’d still go here just for the food itself, it was great, I had a country omelette that was so big I was stuffed and happy.

Very delicious food. My husband and I got omelets. They were piping hot from start to finish. Generous portions and great service. Friendly staff. We’re definitely returning.

It was first time there and I am glad it was busy on a Sunday. Most places we we went to it was busy. They had two other tables with people. The woman was nice to us. The food was hot and ready to eat. It’s nice to visit small diners in small cities rather than going to chain restaurants all the time. I would go there again.

We stopped in for lunch on the 4th of July. We arrived around 11:30 and found they were closing at 1:00.The waitress was very pleasant during our entire visit. We each ordered a hamburger and waited about 20 to get our food. It was worth the wait. The hamburger patties were handmade and cooked to perfection. The buns were fresh, buttered, and toasted. The fries were as hot and fresh as the burgers.
The decor is eclectic, a combination of artifacts from the 50’s to the present. The dining area was clean. The bathrooms were clean and functional but in need of repair and painting.
The table next table over ordered hot beef and it looked really good.
Laverne and Gail’s is worth the trip.

Hometown up north greatness. We felt right at home with the rustic & dated charm of the place. Food was fresh, hot and homemade. Local folk hangout.
