Reviews
The general manager reached out to me after my original 2-star review. Offered to make the situation correct and sent me a coupon for a retry-meal. Mentioned it was a fairly new location and they were still training the staff.
Everything I put as a con below was rectified today. I was so pleased especially that the tots and fries were cooked in clean oil.
The extent to which the company went to acknowledge, address, and make positive changes was immediate and effective. I’m completely sold on the place now.
Thanks guys!
ORIGINAL REVIEW:
Straight to the lists:
PROS
– Burger was phenomenal
CONS
– Previously wetted salt & pepper packets
– Dirty trash can surfaces; hasn’t been wiped in forever
– I ordered dill pickles for my burger. They were left off. When I asked for pickles on the side guy brought me sweet pickles. Not once, not twice, but three times. Never did get my dill pickles
– Asked for their “special” sauce on the side since it was my first time – they gave me no sauce
– Fries would probably have been awesome but I couldn’t eat them. Craft evidentially uses the same cooking oil for their seafood. I dislike seafood. Thus, my fries were thrown away (+ $5.25 to turn my burger into a ‘meal’)
– 23 minutes to be served (they were not busy)
– None of the employees knew the WiFi. Which is super cool since they advertise “free WiFi”
– Front of the house clerk did almost nothing besides play on his phone. They don’t take orders (you do that yourself), they don’t take payments, they don’t walk dine-in customers their food. Literally, the only thing I saw the guy do was occasionally hand cups to patrons
Might be a lot of small things but when I pay $20 for a burger and fries, I expect a better experience than I get at McDonald’s
Highly disappointing
This drink in the picture is probably the best in Duluth. It’s delicious.
The prices are great, and they give generous portions, which is fantastic. I come here often, and I’ll definitely be visiting again soon.
The staff were genuinely nice and happy to answer all my questions. I really liked their “build your own” burger option. I chose crispy bacon for mine, though it wasn’t crispy when it came out. Thankfully, they quickly remade it for me without any issue. Next time, I’ll add a note to make the bacon crispy when I order.
Here’s what we had:
– Classic burger: My boyfriend liked it.
– Build your own burger (with fried egg and crispy bacon): The egg was perfectly cooked. I enjoyed the burger, but personally found it a bit greasy — the top bun looked a bit too buttery.
– Sweet potato fries: Tasty and not greasy, which I appreciated.
– Soy garlic half chicken: Flavorful, though the glaze was quite drippy — be careful when eating!
I’m taking off one star because the women’s restroom looked a bit worn — the sink finish and wall paint were peeling.
Also, the location doesn’t appear on the official Craft Burger website yet, so I couldn’t place a pickup order online without going through a food delivery app. I prefer to order directly to avoid extra fees.
Overall, the food was good and the service was excellent. I’ll definitely return to try more menu items, and hopefully see the restroom updated by then.
First, the screen to order is a little confusing when selecting an item. Pretty strange layout on the options. Secondly, I ordered the burger to be medium, not medium well. It came out overcooked and no taste at all.
We ordered the Garlic Lover and the Almost Famous (substituted the cheese for fresh mozzarella) burgers. I think my burger was made first because when it came to our table it was COLD. The meet was cold, no garlic taste, no anything. I would not recommend the Garlic Lover to anyone. The Almost Famous burger was better, because there was some flavor. But that flavor came from all the sauce that was on the burger. The burgers are messy and not flavorful. I was pretty disappointed in the burgers, especially for being $12 a burger. It’s like a shake shack without the deliciousness in the burger.
Plenty of parking and restrooms were clean. Tables are spaced out and clean.
