I hosted my baby shower here in the main dining room & the aesthetic was just what I was looking for! The room can hold much more than the 20 guests that I had, but I enjoyed that it could feel small & intimate, while also allowing for more space if needed. Brooklyn was very responsive to my questions & the staff were also very friendly & willing to help with anything. The only downside is that it can only be rented after hours, so our timing options were limited. But beyond that, I have no complaints & I would highly recommend hosting an event here.

Maple Leaf slaps. First time coming here, I was expecting the usual – a coffee shop that has ok food but coffee is the main focus. Nope. The food here is excellent! I am an absolute stickler when it comes to breakfast restaurants.. the vast majority sling out the same boring mediocre meals or are the pretentious breakfast place that sounds better than it is. This was the best breakfast I’ve had in a long time. It’s intentionally not fancy; just quality ingredients cooked correctly. Those hash browns were on point and I could tell they hand shredded those taters the ole fashioned way. The sandwich, again nothing fancy, it just felt like the way I would make it at home and it was perfect – garlic aioli for the win. If I had to critique something, the English muffin could have been better but it was perfectly fine. The breakfast alone would rival any breakfast in a 20 mile radius but – don’t forget the coffee! The coffee was great too. Most coffee places just lack in the breakfast department, I was presently surprised with ML. We even tried a gluten free donut – wow. They had some other bakery items that looked really good as well. 10/10 highly recommend.

Excellent food and coffee! I ordered a lunch wrap and an iced caramel breve and both were amazing. The staff was friendly and I didnt wait very long for my drink and food even though it was quite busy. My only complaint is there is only one area with comfy seating. I came here specifically because I saw there was a couch and armchairs on google and they were all occupied by a group of students. I am new to illinois and was looking for a new coffeehouse to stay and read at for an extended amount of time and was disappointed I had to sit at a table. I didnt stay anywhere near as long as I normally would have at my shop back home- that place had multiple couches and chairs.
In response to the owner: you can directly control how you furnish the place. My old coffee shop was mostly couches and armchairs. I was disappointed to find this shop only has one comfy corner. The chances of ever finding it open are basically non existent. I would absolutely go back for to go food and coffee but I wouldn’t plan to stay a while.

Brilliant Shine Detailing
We decided on Maple Leaf for our baby shower and it was the perfect choice. It’s located right on the river in St. Charles and in the evening it’s very warm and cozy. We had about 40 guests and probably could’ve fit another 10-20 inside. The café was clean and there was a little back room where we were able to set up all of our food. The café gave us the option for opening a tab for guests to order drinks which was a nice touch! Maple Leaf was also VERY price competitive. It was literally thousands of dollars less than other venues we were looking at in the NW suburbs.
The café had two employees there for the duration of our shower – Maddy and Mariah – and they were awesome. For the 4-ish hours we were there, they made sure everything was clean and taken care of. Both of them were incredibly attentive and we never had to go searching for one of them in the case we needed something. We tried to make sure the space was as clean as possible when we were leaving that way they could go enjoy the rest of their Saturday night!

I used to love this cafe and would stop by whenever I had the chance. I went this week with my friend and we ordered iced caramel lattes. When barista handed us our drinks and we tried it we both were getting sugar chunks in our mouth and coffee was also really bitter. We mixed it really well and tried to have a bit more of it but We both went back and asked for more caramel syrup and then the barista told us they were out of caramel syrup. So instead of telling us that at the time we ordered our drinks she just made our drinks and added sugar. Like who does that? If she told us that at the time we ordered we would have opted for different drinks. It’s crazy how they run out of the one most important ingredient for one of their specialty lattes. We really tried to drink the coffee but we couldn’t so we left the cafe and went to a different place to grab coffee!!

When i first drove by, i thought it was a tiny little place with a couple of tables by the coffee. Then i went in, and the seating seemed like it went on forever. Plus they have a nice patio overlooking the river.
But more importantly, the coffee and food. They have the best bacon, crisp and crunchy like it should be. The jam served with the toast is a nice touch as well.

First & foremost their food is AMAZING & do NOT snooze on the hash brown patties —- I promise they are worth every bite !
After some feedback dialog via emails with owner – boiling my experience down – I was trying to do carryout for their new menu item “Eggs Benny” and the team isn’t quite ready for that yet & at the same time maintain their extremely high food quality. That’s fair —- at the same time I’ve recommended they consider any new item that starts that way – to make those items “dine in only”
I bumped the “service” portion of this review up 1 Star & also brought the atmosphere up to 5 matching the FOOD which is an easy to give 5 stars.

Their online ordering doesn’t have their new Dec 15 “announced via IG” – Eggs Benny item & the staff refuses to accept a request verbally via phone call asking to add this item to an online order just submitted. WHAT ?!?!?

Ridiculous……
NOPE – you must drive to store to place a carryout order for Eggs Benny and wait for it to be made while picking up all other items which were ordered online.

Beautiful coffee shop with so much space. The staff was super friendly and helpful.
The coffee is strong, could use more flavor but still good. The amount of options is fantastic, they have a great variety of specials.
