We were not sure about this place as we walked up with kids. We opened the door got seated and were greeted warmly. Drinks came fast, so did the food it was delicious. I like a place that values sauces. Theirs was excellent! Cheese sauce with the pretzel was so good! Tartar with fish and chips wonderful. Bbq on the boneless wings and my burger was sweet and plentiful. Fry sauce was excellent! We were hesitant to take our family here but it was a great decision! Service was great! Highly recommend for decent bar food!

UPDATE: 5/26/25 – Well, this will my last update here. Been coming here since I got here with my “Brother”. Always a great atmosphere. Staff and people there are always great! Unfortunately, found out today that they no longer serve Coke products. ☹️ I know that doesn’t sound like much but to a person that only drinks Bacardi & Cokes, that’s a big deal. (And if you say to go ahead and use Pepsi, you ought to be shot!) So in closing, The Dirty Shame Restaurant has lost a loyal customer. Thanks for the 2+ years!!!

Update: 4/14/24 – Been going here on Sunday’s for the Last couple of weeks being that we live close by. I always have a good time and meet new people. Erica (bartender/server) is the best (and gorgeous!) along with the “early” bartender/server (sorry, I don’t know her name) always makes us feel welcome. Single pizza is always great, as are the Buffalo Wings. Thanks again for making us feel welcome.

Went to watch a football game. Had wings, pretzel and several drinks. Bartender was a cutie. (Wish I was younger! ) People seemed nice. A little pricey but I had a nice time. I’m new to the area and felt very welcomed. Now to go back and try the restaurant side.

Shame is what I feel every time I bring my family here to eat. Been making that same shameful decision for 5 years, and every time it’s the same disappointment. Never again. The food is good, pizza great actually. The service and speed is atrocious. Tonight we sat down at 5:40pm before the rush and didn’t get food until 7:40. Left at 8:00. One pizza, a kids pizza, and 2 side salads were all that were ordered. My family went grocery shopping while waiting for food actually. We even know to not order anything besides pizza since there is always a 1hr wait after a food order and we don’t want to complicate things. Never once was offered a refill for drink or asked if we needed anything and we had an infant and a child. 2 hours for a pizza!! Same story for 5 years. Do yourself a favor and eat at Tante Emma’s or Longhorn. The Shame was our last resort because the other places were closed. There is a serious management issue here and understaffing. Two servers for both the bar side and restaurant side isn’t enough. Also, make the bar side a restaurant and only 21up after 8pm. Problems solved with seating. Reduce the menu options if the kitchen can’t keep up. Horrible management but servers that are really trying their best.

Super friendly place, we had dinner with our family while vacationing in garden valley. We ordered the Western brisket bison & Elk Wagyu burger and macaroni and cheese for the kid meals. Our waitress was lovely and helpful

Stopped in here with a friend on a work trip for lunch. Nice saloon bar with great food. We started with some smoked pork burnt ends and a soft pretzel with cheese sauce. The burnt ends and the pretzel were both delicious. Next my friend got the elk wagyu burger and I got the chicken quesadilla. Both were very good. The quesadilla came with chips and salsa. Everything was easy, timely, and served with a smile! Overall very impressed with this bar/restaurant. Highly recommend!

VERDICT: An excellent stop if you’re ever on the Banks-Lowman. (Or, get a boujee AirBnB yurt 6 miles away like we did and eat well, drink plenty, and play pool into the night. )

FOOD: Throughout my days eating in small towns between destinations, I typically brace myself for substandard quality, but this place stands out as one I can proudly recommend whether or not it was between stops. The food and drink are excellent and well-priced. The pizza, in particular, has a more yeast forward crust with and extremely thin crisp exterior and warm bready interior with a wonderful pull. The ingredients are tasteful in amount, and the grease is mild, not blunting the flavors at play. (Fat down-regulates neurological response to salt and salt enhances bud density sharpening spice/seasoning perception.) The pretzel is even better. The center is dense and holds character consistently, while the exterior is expertly washed, having a good crisp and properly salted for a crunch without blowing out flavor. Gold star for using a kosher. The tap selection surprised me in that they carried brands other than the macrobrews frequently available at Western themed restaurants. Having a wide selection and a staff knowledgeable in the brews makes you deserving of another gold star.

SERVICE: Perfect. Even bantered back-and-forth about my faux shame for eating a pretzel with pizza with a beer, or as I call it the “bread-on-bread-on-liquid-bread” special. Drinks were always full.

ATMOSPHERE: Honestly, I was thinking it’d be different, but it was quite clean, well-kept, and just pleasant at every turn. For being a place with “Dirty Shame” in the name, it was quite a respectable, peaceful location to get good food, some beer, and get slaughtered by my two pool shark friends (pictured).

To start, the food choice I had for dinner was a flat iron steak with a small garden salad. The salad was very nicely presented and good to eat with the balsamic vinaigrette and getting the medium rare flat iron steak was presented with the right temperature although the flavor was barely there in freshness.

Going for the vibe of the place, I was met with some other customers around their 60’s who lived around the area on the 27th of February and although I tried to make small talk, it didn’t avail much and if you’re usually alone, it’s best to enjoy the food with those whom you know. Otherwise, everyone was friendly and the vibe which I sensed was very calm and an overall positive atmosphere.

In conclusion, the area was clean, the server was friendly and the food in which I give my verdict, is around 4 stars rating because of feeling the steak could be better prepared with some ingredients of crushed garlic and the usual salt and pepper if massaged into the steak. But for the restaurant? They’re great! I would definitely look forward to seeing them again.

Worst dining experience I have had in a long time. Waitress was terrible she forgot items gave our food to the wrong table no drink refills we constantly had to ask for items. My wife ordered steak and pasta and they never asked her how she wanted her steak and they brought it out rare my wife likes her steak medium. Tables that came after us got their food and ate and left before we were served. Took us an hour and a half to receive our food after we ordered. We were in a group and got surprised at the end with an automatic 25% gratuity honestly she didn’t deserve any gratuity and she got a $150 tip for being terrible I won’t be back
