A Must-Visit Upgrade for Plymouth Craft Beer Lovers!

Second Wind’s new Main Street location is an incredible expansion and a massive win for the community after five years of watching the build. They celebrated their soft launch weekend over Thanksgiving without the fuss of a “friends and family” night, which says everything about their community focus.

The Vibe: The space is beautifully designed—modern industrial meets cozy lounge. Think dark, stylish leather seating, cool exposed lighting, and clearly displayed digital menu boards over the bar. It’s a great spot to meet friends and hang out for hours.

The Beer: Top-notch, as expected. I highly recommend the Known and Loved IPA (5.4% ABV). It’s a perfectly sessionable, hazy IPA that’s citrusy and refreshing. A true quality pour. I also had a half pour of one of their excellent sours.

A Note on Food (The Real Story): They are currently only serving beer, not food, while they finalize permits and prepare for their partnership with celebrity Chef Stephen Coe. Word on the street is that the delay isn’t the permits, but rather that Chef Coe is serving a short jail stint—a 60-day sentence—for the culinary brutality he inflicted upon Bobby Flay during their recent TV battle.

Seriously though, the place is already a 5-star experience based on the atmosphere and the quality beer alone. Once the kitchen opens and Chef Coe is free to run it, this location will be legendary. Go show your support (and maybe bake some jail breaking tools in a cake for their Executive Chef!).

Second Wind’s new taproom & kitchen on Main St is great! The food is fantastic – highly recommend giving their burgers a try. Even the veggie burger is delicious. Their sidewinder fries are great too – thick, crispy & salty. My favorite beer of theirs is the Chai Banana Bread (sour).

Went for the 1st time yesterday and really enjoyed the vibe. The chicken buffalo pizza was excellent as well as the beer selection. Will definitely be going again.

Well done on the new place, Second Wind! It is a comfortable and welcoming spot with big windows if you want to watch the world go by. You can sit at high tables, lower tables, the bar or maybe grab the comfy couch and chairs. There is a good solid collection of beers to pick from and definitely something for those who don’t drink beer. Haven’t had food here yet, so no rating there.

It’s been a looooong time coming, and it was worth the wait.

The beer, or course, is the best on the South Shore. (I have many years of empirical research in this area). But what about the food?

We had the Corn dip, Chop Suey, and Chicken Sandwich. Everything was great!

The Corn Dip was cheesy and rich, the chop suey was surprisingly decadent, and the chicken sandwich was complex and rewarding. (I had the chicken sandwich.)

Notes:

The corn dip was rich and full of flavor and cheese, but could have used a bit more corn in the mix. It was delicious, but not quite corny enough. That’s the only criticism.

The chop suey was great. Much closer to a fancy bolognese than I was expecting. An excellent balance of flavors.

The chicken sandwich was excellent. Super flavorful, and multi-layered. I’m still not sure what I was tasting, but it was earthy, umami, rich and complex. A most intriguing chicken sandwich.

We’re heading back to soon to try more from the menu. The Hans burger, much like Hans himself, looks like it will be delicious.
