The food: delicious
The price: surprisingly good
The chefs were debating about what their spirit pokemon would be while they made the mood. Some old guy sat next to me said he couldn’t understand why people put fries in Mexican food. I truly felt like I was expecting Lawrence.
(P.s. Tried to remember to take pics of the food, but it never survived long enough for me to stop to take any.)
We’ll be back soon.
This place makes me feel like im walking into one of my go to places everytime I go home for a visit.
Everything has been delicious. Down to the fries they use. No mushy soggy fries. Its already become a regular place i eat. Highly recommend!
We usually eat at the brick and mortar but have also gotten food from the food truck, where service was fast and the food was fresh and delicious.
My fiancée wishes they would put their Ube Horchata on the menu permanently after we tried it during Lawrence restaurant week, she talks about it all the time!
The atmosphere and vibe of JBs is also classic Lawrence. It feels like a throwback to the old days where downtown was a hub of cool, eclectic businesses and restaurants!
All in all if you’re looking for something unique and delicious, you gotta get to JBs! We’re hoping they stick around for a long time!
Walking takis with the Korean beef was pretty enjoyable.
After that, we were only half a block away from the restaurant, so we decided to try it out. It wouldn’t be fair to judge it just based on the truck.
Once there, we ordered 2 burritos, a Korean chicken, and a curry chicken.
The curry burrito wasn’t bad. It had a good flavor to it, but I thought it was a little too dry, I felt like it was missing just a little something extra to help with that.
I did like the Korean chicken, It could have used a little extra sauce, but it wasn’t dry like the other one.
All things considered, including the price, I would go back to try a couple more menu options. Other than the carnitas (at least on the food truck) there wasn’t anything bad, just room for improvement.
