I came here today, Saturday a little after noon for lunch. It’s basically what I expected from a small Chinese buffet. The variety of food is good. The coconut chicken and garlic honey chicken were my favorite. They had a decent selection of desserts as well. I didn’t try the ice cream because self service scoop ice cream has an ew factor for me (but buffets don’t, go figure!). The price was under $11 after tax which is very reasonable. If I ever travel to this area again I’ll be sure to stop in again. Thanks.

Solid 4 stars for a buffet. We came in around 2:00 on a Monday afternoon. There were 2-3 other tables occupied when we arrived. We were greeted, sat, and our drink orders taken. I had coffee, and I do not recommend it. I’ll drink pretty much any coffee put in front of me, but this was an exception. I could only get down about half the cup. Fine. Don’t get the coffee. The main entrees on the buffet were hot and fresh enough, but mostly they were just really delicious. By our second trip, it was close enough to dinner that everything was piping hot and completely fresh. Several chicken dishes, beef dishes, some pork, and some seafood (shrimp, salmon, artificial crab, etc) The meat was well trimmed and tasted great. I didn’t get any mystery pieces, gristle, or fat to speak of. The sushi was not great, but I wasn’t expecting it to be. The dessert bar was extensive and included a variety of self select hard serve. Two adults and a child cost $45 including drinks and a 20%+ tip. Though I didn’t find everything to be perfect, I’ve never found anyone to be perfect either so it’s par for the course.
Service was fine, no complaints at all.
If you’re in the mood for Chinese buffet, there’s no reason not to try this spot out.

Great food!! The deserts are very good. Especially the banana pudding!
We were seated quickly and I didn’t want to be right next to the buffet so I asked for a larger table. Waitress didn’t seem to like that. The food was pretty good. Price wasn’t that bad either. Cheaper then other places that are similar. The one thing I didn’t like was that the tables are so close together. I kept bumping into other people. (confined) claustrophobic. The 2nd thing was that the floors were dirty and certain areas were dirty. But it was cheaper.

1st time here. Was a little busy at 2:30 pm. Confused if we sat ourselves or waited. Food options were plentiful. Alot of dishes I never heard of like PB chicken. Food was very hot not luke warm like some places. The sweet and sour chicken which is always my favorite not my favorite here. Chicken pieces were very small. The pan they are served in very small so couldn’t really get many anyway. Now to get to service. Wasn’t impressed. Servers did not seem very nice. Thats even if you could find one. Typically when im dining out I will place me empty or almost empty cup on the edge of the table. That apparently doesnt work here. They walked by atleast 6 times. Appearance. Floors were dirty. Food and trash everywhere. Table we were sat at was sticky. Originally was going to sit us at a booth which we preferred but moved us to a table last b second im guessing they didnt think my child would fit in the booth. Price was good. Not a place I will drive 45 miles from home to specially go to. This is the 1st Chinese restaurant I’ve been to in Illinois from texas since moving. Definitely going to try a different one.

House of Hunan was very nicely decorated outside for the holiday season, it was clean and very welcoming. The building was very handicap accessible with a very nice ramp making wheelchair friendly however there was not much for handicap parking.
The inside was clean and easy to navigate. However the person we first we encountered was a lady who was directing us to where to sit but she appeared distracted and just kept flagging her hand to the back of the restaurant so we went where she was pointing then they acted a little rude we sat at a bigger table than we needed. This seemed to be the norm as the people who worked there were not the friendliest but they were ok.
Some of the food on the buffet was not the warmest or freshest but then there was other stuff that was hot and fresh and constantly being refilled. They had a very nice variety of foods and choices. They had a very unique taco that my daughter was crazy about.
My family wants to go back at a time when it is not a holiday time to see if the food is more fresh and the service is better.

One of the best Chinese Restaurants in town. I usually prefer this one over the others. They have all the standard Americanized Chinese dishes, salad bar, sushi, and desert area. There is something for everyone here. A wheelchair ramp with a high handrail is in the parking lot to accommodate people with mobility issues or baby strollers. The restaurant is very clean inside and the food is always fresh if you visit around peak lunch or dinner times. They will make specific fresh dishes for you if you ask when they are missing from the buffet or not looking the freshest. Overall, this is a great place to eat if you are seeking American Chinese food.

Almost everything was perfect about our trip here. Problem was the actual food. Coconut chicken; cold and stale. Thought; surely they can’t mess up egg fried rice, the peas were so old they were shriveled up and had pieces of fuzz sticking to them, also cold. The only thing that was not cold was the crab rangoons. Why are temperatures not being checked? Food was in danger zones well below the safe temperature that cooked food needs to be kept at; if you don’t know the temp than clearly no food handlers certificates are present. Honestly no reason to actually go to Peru for food so far, waste of gas.

My daughter and I went around 3 pm and everything was fresh and quite good that we had. The price is quite reasonable as well. We will definitely be back. The sushi was really good although I was disappointed to see the red ginger which has aspartame in it. The servers were nice and the presentation was good.

House of Hunan is my favorite Chinese food in the area. It’s always fresh and hot at the buffet! We have never had an issue with carry-out either. Highly recommend! My family personally loves the Honey Garlic Chicken, Pork + Mushroom, Pepper Chicken, and the Crab Rangoons. Their green beans are also AMAZING!
