Staying at the Spero Hotel makes this place very convenient.
Surpringly the food was reasonably priced and quite good. The service was good, but almost was a 4 star because you had to aske for a refill of your drink despite the server walking past the table with an empty water, soda or coffees.
I would eat here again, as I would stay in the Hotel Spero again.
Lavender fields cocktail did the trick, one and done for me lol. The old fashioned was nice with a citrus flavor.
However they work in a very inefficient way. No one takes care of the entrance, no one takes care of taking orders. They seem busy but no idea what they are busy with. Sometimes all waiters disappear and you can find no one except customers in the restaurant……
I asked the server her preference between the salmon and the steak frites and she strongly suggested the salmon. I wasn’t disappointed. The salmon was good — the glaze was great, and I really enjoyed the risotto. I’m not usually one that enjoys mushrooms, but these were actually pleasant. The asparagus were tender, but not overcooked. I would have preferred a more crispy asparagus, but their taste was on point.
I indulged in the dessert — the bread pudding — which was great, partly because the garnish of fresh berries and whipped cream cut the sweetness of the caramel.
It was a great dinner before attending the theater (Curran) nearby.
Only one person serving both the bar and waiting tables. The order was delayed and wrong. The place had little to no atmosphere and is begging to be bought out and refurbished.
A tepid welcome to the city. For a much better experience, try Tad’s or Pinecrest for a much better dining experience.
