Drinks & Appetizer: Off to a Great Start
Our drinks—the Vanilla Old Fashioned, Patio Daddio, and Thoughtful Tropical mocktail—were all excellent. Creative, balanced, and enjoyable. The real star of the night, though, was the Crispy Pork Belly appetizer ($17). Served over roasted creamed corn with a maple mustard glaze, it was absolutely phenomenal—crispy, rich, and full of flavor.
Entrées: A Mixed Experience
The Duroc Tomahawk Pork Chop ($42) was delicious, well-seasoned, and perfectly cooked—but small for a tomahawk cut. The side of “smashed” fingerling potatoes was underwhelming: not smashed, served cold, and far too large a portion. It felt like filler to pad the price.
The Butter Burger ($18) had a flavorful patty, but the untoasted, overly firm brioche bun dragged it down.
The Country Mac & Cheese ($19) however, was rich, cheesy, and kid-approved.
Service: Needs Improvement
Our server, Saya, was disappointing—barely said a word beyond taking our order. We weren’t told about the nightly fish fry special, and only found out after overhearing another server. When asked, he simply said “oh yeah,” as he brought a box to pack up our food.
Overall, Cedar and Sage has great food potential—especially the appetizers and drinks—but the service needs serious attention. We’ll return, but will choose dishes more carefully and request a different server next time.

We had reservations but still had to wait about 10 minutes for our table. I could tell they were very understaffed which wasn’t the employees fault who were there working.
I’m mainly leaving this review because our server Mikaehla was lovely even though she was working hard to take care of every table and seemed to be the only server. She was so pleasant every time she came to check in on us, knowing that it was a bit of a wait for stuff.
Our food was delicious and we enjoyed our evening. The casino people watching is also top notch.
The good: the atmosphere was very nice! The menu is interesting and includes walleye cheeks and Bison. We had the bison pot roast, prime sirloin and wedge salad with prawns. Food was EXCELLENT! We also tried the old fashioned flight. Nice presentation and flavor.
The bad: Pretty expensive for what you get. Waitress didn’t check in with us much.
The UGLY: It took nearly 3 hours for us to have dinner. 30 minutes at the table before we got drinks. Another 30+ to get an appetizer. Nearly an hour to get main course.
Everything they serve for breakfast is all authentic and made from scratch literally. Their Customer Service is amazing! Their Atmosphere Is Amazing! Their food is even better! I definitely recommend their breakfast. A little on the high end for pricing but the quality of the food and the portions make up for that as I like to see it. They are locally sourced! They serve lunch and dinner here as well. If you get a chance to try out there Breakfast Go Do It. ~ Dining With Duane
