Shah’s Halal was established in 2005 with one food cart in Richmond Hill Queens on 121st and Liberty Avenue, and we’ve been tantalizing taste buds ever since. In 2016, we developed our first Long Island branch with the goal in mind of becoming, “the best Halal Food Restaurant in Long Island NY” and we’ve definitely grown a lot since then! We know our customers are just as passionate about great food as we are.

The location is very clean and very quiet. Parking stinks at times but whatever.
They provide good service, always take care of me and make me feel welcome.
The food is good, I typically get lamb and chicken over salad. They have great white sauce compared to some other halal places and their hot sauce has real kick.
I would like larger portions of the protein which is where I deducted a star but overall a really good place to eat.

Great food and generous portions. The chicken over rice was fresh, flavorful, and the white sauce was amazing. Service was quick and the staff was friendly. Definitely coming back.

I am so disappointed with my experience tonight. My family and I have been patrons of this restaurant numerous times and this is the first time I received such careless, unbothered, unprofessional, and rude service. I went into the store to order and was treated as a nuisance by the gentleman behind the counter. I paid and left with two large bags of food, after leaving the store the bags broke and spilled my food all over the side walk. I went back inside and explained the situation to the man behind the counter and was met with a very rude response of “Call the police”. I was simply hoping for an extra few bags to repack my food and maybe an apology (decent service???). I do not know who the gentle man working around 7:30 pm on 12/9/25 was, but this place needs some customer service training and reprimanding for this employee.

I ordered platter through Uber eats, Portion size are literally half. No white sauce, no hot sauce. Never ever buying again from this place. Don’t fall for the buy one get one free offer scam by the store in uber eats.

This is still the best place to grab some food near the Stony Brook campus. It never dips in quality, if you buy the chicken platter you can always expect a delicious meal. The buy-one-get-one free offer is great if you always want to save some for a later time or share with a friend!
