Stopped in for dinner after picking up some items in Publix. I had read the reviews and was interested in trying out Puerto de Oro since they opened. We were not disappointed. It was quiet, nice atmosphere, and the food was very good!

I was skeptical about this place after reading some of the older reviews but I’m glad I ignored them and decided to dine here. My wife tried the Grilled Chicken Chimchanga and I had the Veggie Burrito and we loved it. The seasoning was perfect, chicken was well cooked and their salsa is delicious. I like that they have vegetarian options called out in the menu. Pleasantly surprised and highly recommend this place. Will be back.

We just tried Puerta de Oro for the first time. The server mentioned that he was new — but he did an EXCELLENT job and was VERY, VERY nice. The manager was also great! My chicken soup was absolutely delicious (lots of chicken and avocado!) and my son’s chicken tacos were excellent. Thank you for a wonderful meal! We will be back 🙂

UNDERRATED SPOT!!
This place was a hidden gem with the best tres leches cake ever! I walked in and was welcomed with such lively energy, and I got seated right away with chips and salsa. Everyone there was super sweet and checked on me often without being overbearing.
Not to mention, the place itself is beautiful. There’s a big mural, and right now it’s decorated for Christmas, which makes it feel extra cozy. I ordered a chicken tostada and a margarita, and both were amazing. The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned exactly how I like it. The margarita was strong in the best way but still really tasty. I also got a tres leches cake and it was delicious! Best one I’ve tried. Definitely worth every penny.
I’d recommend this spot to anyone looking for a Mexican restaurant to hit up regularly. I’ll definitely be back.

I live out of the area but saw this place and gave it a shot. The chips and salsa are good. The ceviche is good. The birria tacos are good. Paloma and Texas mango margaritas are good. Everything is a good value for the price. I took some leftover ceviche and a taco home for tomorrow. Service is helpful, attentive, and not bothersome. If you’re in the area looking for a good casual dinner spot be sure to check them out!

My wife and I have been to this restaurant four times now and have to say the food has been consistently excellent each time! We particularly enjoy the fajitas, as they have better flavor than most of the restaurants! I’ve tried several other dishes as well and I’ve been impressed by all. Not sure about some of the low rated reviews, as we now default to Puerta de Oro when thinking about Mexican food nearby. Highly recommended.

My family and I went on their second day open and enjoyed our meal. They plan to serve alcoholic drinks but don’t have their liquor license yet. Everything is new and clean.
The servers were slightly understaffed but we still had good service. It only took 15 minutes to receive our food after ordering.
We are happy to have another near by Mexican restaurant and plan to come again.

This place opened recently, and I think it’s off to a great start! Loved the chips and salsa, which had great flavor and a great kick. I enjoyed the barbacoa enchiladas. Service was great and food came out quickly. Would visit again!
