Though that does bring me to my next point “Street Corn” for $10…yeah save yourself the time. Your getting a luke warm milky cup of cheap corn sprinkled with entirely way too much cojito cheese and a sprinkle of paprika.
And just to add for some clarity on the menu, it has a “add item”. I added tortillas what I thought was 6, I got 6 packs. not that it was expensive but i basically threw 3 dollars in the trash over menu wording. I cant give this a 5 star over a meat, bean, and cold set on top all the while you fall on your preverbial sword selling a veryy simplistic appetizer. My tip to the chef: mayo, sour cream, limes, cilantro, smoked paprika then the cojito and finally please save face and GRILLED CORN!
The shelf life of todays cultural restaraunts is very short. One would think making an effort to stand out even if its something so small.
Positive: food was on time.
During my most recent visit, one of the servers presented in a way that was extremely concerning and frankly unacceptable for a food-service environment. The server had a strong body odor, visibly unkempt clothing, was repeatedly scratching his head, and was coughing throughout service. This created a very uncomfortable experience and raised serious concerns about cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety.
In addition, the time before this visit , I overheard another server, Shannon, speaking with a very unprofessional and negative attitude about other people while on the floor. Regardless of who the comments were about, that type of behavior in front of guests reflects poorly on the restaurant and contributes to an overall atmosphere that feels unmanaged and unprofessional.
These are not minor or subjective complaints. Servers are the face of a restaurant, and basic personal hygiene and professional conduct are non-negotiable requirements in this industry. The fact that employees were allowed to work the floor in these conditions suggests a lack of oversight, accountability, and willingness by on-site management to address issues when standards are not being met.
Again, I have eaten at other locations under the same ownership and have never encountered anything like this, which is why this feels like a management failure at this particular restaurant rather than a company-wide issue. I would strongly encourage ownership to take a closer look at the leadership and management practices at this location, as the current situation reflects poorly on an otherwise solid restaurant group.
I hope this feedback is taken seriously, because this location has the potential to match the quality of the others—but only if management is willing and able to enforce basic professionalism, cleanliness, and staff conduct. Especially with Chipotle moving in Down the road and another Mexican restaurant in Geneva this place won’t last much longer.
Worth the wait tho! We didn’t feel rushed or pressured to leave. It was actually really nice
