Right next to (behind the fence) of the steam port authority via Woods hole to Tisbury on the island of Tisbury, Martha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts

Very delicious and fresh tasting coffee
Not to bad for pricing considering it’s the Cape and usually pricey for things in the area. (Island)

Also, the red velvet cupcake was delivered!

Good sandwich shop and bakery. The people were super friendly. Preparation of the food was a little slow and the food was expensive, though the latter is surely normal on this generally expensive island. My son enjoyed the Philly cheese steak sandwich, though it’s definitely an adult portion at about twice the size he could eat in one meal. I liked my breakfast sandwich, though it could have been a little more flavorful (salt would have done the trick, but I might also have chosen the wrong bread).

Coffee here is watery and terrible. I ordered a cold brew and asked about the quality before purchasing. She assured me they let it sit for 24 hours and then serve. What I received was a watery coffee. It tasted like regular brewed coffee poured over ice. I kindly asked the blonde girl if she could swap my cold brew for a hot coffee with coconut milk. She was incredibly rude and had an attitude. I said thank you and she did not acknowledge me at all. I highly recommend purchasing your coffee elsewhere. If the owners or managers see this, please look up a proper recipe for cold brew. I ordered along with 3 other girls and they also shared that their coffee was watery and a waste of money. We want to pour our money into local businesses but we want quality and good customer service where we do spend our money.

Enjoyed great sandwiches for lunch here. There is some limited inside seating, with restrooms around the back (behind the Black Dog clothing store). Sandwiches were large, on fresh bread with plentiful, fresh ingredients. Tried the Ohh Captain, My Captain (Turkey, cheddar, avocado) and the Gettin’ Figgy With It (chicken breast, goat cheese and fig jam), Came with a pickle and a bag of Cape Cod chips, too. Good value for the quality, but certainly not a “budget” lunch sandwich.

This is the worst ceaser salad wrap I’ve had
in my life.

I spent $30 on a chicken ceaser salad wrap and a smoothie.

It’s 4 ingredients so it amazes me how someone could mess it up so badly- obviously kitchen staff does not care at all about the food they are sending out.

If you advertise your food one way on your menu, that’s what you should actually be using as your ingredients.

I’m wondering why the quality and service at all your locations has plummeted while you raise your prices for mediocre food and service.

Such a disappointment!

Stop here before you go on the ferry!
So convenient! Great selection of beverages, pastries from the bakery and some Black Dog items to keep you warm on the ferry

The bakery definitely benefits from the iconic Black Dog name and the amazing fortune for being the first eatery you see coming off the ferry. But, as many know, that convenience usually comes at the cost of lower quality of just about everything.

Please keep in mind, everyone’s tastes are individual to themselves. However, we found our experience here as one that could have been much better.

We find the coffee to be weak. My husband got hot coffee (points for temperature) and I got iced (major points for having simple syrup, although the ratio is off so it’s more like sweet water than syrup. If you like your coffee sweet, be prepared to put a lot in there).

My husband ordered an everything bagel with butter. He was given cream cheese instead because (not kidding) they were out of butter. Being located 50 feet from Stop and Shop, this was pretty disappointing. But on the other hand, given the poor bagel reviews, maybe he dodged a bullet. He got a coffeecake muffin instead (which was totally fine but nothing to rave about).

I got a chocolate croissant, which looked like it would have been good if it was heated up but given to me cold… It was a hard, albeit sweet, not terribly enjoyable croissant with ends that were so hard and burnt you could only really eat the middle.

The staff was nice, especially at the end of one of the hardest seasons imaginable. Dealing with loads of tourists streaming off ferries every day can’t be easy even in a good year.

All in all, my recommendation is if you need something to tide yourself over this is a fine place to go. But if you’re going to be cranky about botched results or you’re picky by nature either go somewhere else or know what you’re getting into before ordering and then don’t be a jerk if it’s not up to your standards.

Opens at 6 a.m. for food they have a huge selection of coffee baked goods and make very tasty burritos on the grill. They also have a boatload of black dog gift items. And sell bread. Friendly staff. Kitchen closes at 2pm.

I’m a hater and I hate to admit when places live up to the hype. But The Black Dog certainly surpasses its reputation.

I got the Spicy Woofer and the reason I have no picture to attach is because I practically swallowed it whole. I’m forever adding slightly cooked spinach to my breakfast sandwiches. The bacon was perfectly crispy (I love when the fat is cooked out). The clam chowder was also great. The chocolate chip cookie? Gorgeous. Spectacular. Perfection.

Food is great but you really have to fix your ordering system. Someone had to wait for a ticket to print for 3 coffees? The lines do not move and your customers are not happy.
