Stopped in and decided to try one of their vegan options. Ordered the vegan chicken and waffles. Absolutely delicious. Definitely surprised how palatable everything was. The food is seasoned and cooked to perfection. I watched the chef plate my food and he definitely takes great pride in the entire culinary process. The service was awesome. I sampled the vegan pound cake and the apple cobbler pound cake. Both were amazing but I settled on the strawberry pound cake. Definitely worth every penny. This will be one of many visits.

Darn good food made with love and high quality ingredients! I got the spates plate and it was delicious and filling. The scrambled eggs were cooked to perfection, candied turkey bacon was very tasty, and the cilantro potatoes were so good ( quite possibly the best potatoes I’ve ever eaten) Had a little difficulty finding the location as the sign is small, but I’m glad I did. It’s in the market place along with many other small businesses and restaurants. I’ll definitely be back to explore more of Sheltons menu

Food was really good. I ordered the French toast sandwich based upon other reviews and it did not disappoint. I also ordered the steak sandwich and it was good. I would have liked a tad bit more seasoning on the steak but it was still very good. The fries were seasoned very well. I enjoyed both meals. And they were very generous with the condiments. I look forward to trying other dishes from the menu.

5 out of 5 for Shelton! The food is mouthwatering and the customer service is top notch. In a city that’s hard up for vegan options, Sheltons is a beacon of light! My meal was SO good I came back 2 days in a row and I will continue to swing by when I’m in town. The reason I gave 5 stars is because EVERYONE can enjoy this place. Yes! They have something for Vegans/Vegetarians and Carnivores. The cook puts his heart and soul into the food and you could tell with every bite. They also have electronic ordering from 2 screens in the front or if you have questions about the menu you can speak with the main cashier who is just as wonderful as he can be. His personality really shines and you can tell he too, loves working there. Don’t sleep on Sheltons cause this IS IT Honey!

Food was hot, fresh, and tasty. Definitely worth the ~$10 a person for a meal. Service was friendly and attentive. You can tell they put love into their food and running their business. I thought both breakfast sandwiches I tried were very tasty. The French toast sandwich was simple yet decadent in a way that doesn’t make you feel like a blob afterward. The Shelton Sammie was complex and a favorite. I think after trying both, my perfect order is a Shelton Sammie with a side of syrup for dipping. Though complex, I felt that the sweet component from the syrup was a welcome addition. I’ll definitely be back and tell others! Perfect low-key breakfast/brunch spot.

Randomly found this place last minute while visiting my mother searching nearby table service lunch spots. I didn’t know anything about this joint food and shopping venue, so I was a little skeptical but the reviews were to consistent not to try…
How grateful I am Shelton’s was the choice! Food was absolutely exquisite!!! Shelton was a one man band yet he had the flavor and creativity in his food of 10 chefs cooking. My Mother and Aunt are suuuuuuuper particular with food so I was a little nervous. There batting average for returning food is .811. They absolutely loved it.
If I had travelled all the way from Frisco to DeSoto just to experience Shelton’s it would’ve been worth it! We had the Chimmichuri Steak and Salmon bowls, pancakes, burger and fries, and the fruit drinks. All absolutely delicious! He was efficient and accommodating handling multiple orders at one time. While there was a small wait, we were blown away how quickly he was able to get such detailed food on our table.
The venue is similar to Legacy Hall in Plano on an entry level hometown scale. It is charming and all the vendors are super friendly, grateful, engaging and happy you are there. We will be returning!

Tried Shelton’s Cafe for the first time and very impressed with the many vegan options as well as their service. They even offer Vegan meal prep. They have non vegan menu as well. I had the hash bowl, it was filled with healthy vegetables and very good.

Loved the turkey based breakfast meats option. Ordered the French Toast Sandwich and the Turkey Sausage and Turkey bacon sandwich. There was one piece of bacon cut in half and a handful of potatoes on that sandwich. Taste of both was good. French toast was the best of the two. The portions are small and for the price did not come with any sides or drink which was disappointing. Customer service was good. Not sure if I will visit again however I wish them much success.
