Friendly and welcoming place. Casual and BBQ smoked on site by Mr Hog Heaven & family. My Mom says best ribs and beans she has ever had. Don’t argue with Mom. I chatted with most of the customers before ordering and all were friendly and had personal favorites to recommend. We will be back.

Where to begin?!? Best brisket and ribs I have ever eaten! And the dirty rice and bbq beans are just straight up on a different level. How is it that the food was not the best part of the experience?!? The owner operator along with the young lady that served us were the absolute best. We don’t live close, but when we are in town this is a must stop! Support this business. They do it right!

Let me just start by saying, each time we come to the place, we are blown away.
The ribs are extraordinarily good. The brisket is consistently wonderful; The sausage is yummy and the chicken is smoked just right. (I’m sure everything else is too. It’s just that what we’ve tried makes us want more of that. )
Green beans, baked beans and the sweet potato casserole are the best sides (so far.) And that fresh, sweet cornbread…
But, today, we were astonished to find that there was something even better. We trusted the cook (aka owner) and he brought out…..The Texas Beef Rib on a bed of dirty rice.
Honestly, this is probably the BEST first bite of anything that I have ever eaten.
Come hungry because portions are generous.
And if you get a chance to try the ‘dirty bowl’ (dirty rice, white gravy & shrimp cooked perfectly) try it.
Folks, just go and get you some soul food. This is a family run, US Navy Veteran owned business in West Shreveport. Incredible!

What a great experience!!!! Great customer service, Great food, Great atmosphere—they definitely make you feel at home!!! And LORDDDD…..that Brisket Sandwich was the bomb!!! It seemed like they included some fat on the cut-up brisket which was OUTSTANDING!!!! I WANT IT LIKE THAT EVERY TIME. They also bring out different foods (such as oxtails & rice or sausages) while you’re waiting for your food or already eating your food.
I wasn’t too enthused about the potato salad since it tasted like some kind of onion, or something similar, so I will get baked beans and macaroni and cheese the next time. I’m definitely looking to our future visit(s).

Best strip mall BBQ south of the Mason Dixon! As a keto-BBQ connoisseur who has eaten BBQ as far north as Alaska to as far south as Florida, Hhog Hheaven BBQ has some of the best BBQ I’ve eaten. The brisket is perfectly marbled with an amazing pepper crust, the ribs are fall-off-the-bone moist with a truly heavenly smoke flavor, and the collard greens are the best I’ve ever eaten (and I’ve eaten a lot). This is definitely don’t miss BBQ destination!

From the moment you step out of your car you smell BBQ. Then you walk inside and immediately feel like you’re at home with family. The food is absolutely amazing, by far the best BBQ I’ve found in Louisiana from Baton Rouge to Shreveport.
We ordered the 5 meat plate and the supreme stuffed turkey leg. Y’all this is enough food to feed five people. There’s only two of us so we’ll have at least three meals. So much food. The turkey leg alone is enough for two meals. Needless to say the portion sizes are huge. Everything is actually made from scratch with love and it shows. We had the ribs, chicken, brisket, sausage, turkey leg, gumbo, dirty rice, potato salad, green beans, and Mac and cheese. OMG the gumbo! Every single thing was top notch.
Do yourself a favor and visit here. You’ll find amazing authentic smokey BBQ, delicious sides, great prices, and huge portions all while feeling like you’re at home with family.

Want some good homecooking or some real smoked BBQ? Then this is the spot! Food is always fresh and seasoned. They offer a different menu practically everyday and the service is great. Smoked meatloaf was AMAZING! My wings and lamp chop tips were a little tough, and the mac&Cheese I don’t think is homemade but still good food!

In my opinion, this is the best barbecue in Shreveport/Bossier. I love a good bark and they did not disappoint. They also have a seafood Friday on the menu which my husband will love. I haven’t had good barbecue from a restaurant in years. I wish I had known about this place several years back, but that’s ok. I know now!

The brisket was tender and juicy, and the sausage was on point.
I will say that I’m not a fan of sweet BBQ sauce, BUT with the way everything was cooked, it paired very well.

Stopped by when they were opening the store. The store itself was ok, it use to be other restaurants here so I was familiar with the place. The kitchen is a rather small area and the dining so the bbq/smoke pit sits in the parking lot in front of the store. Everything smelt great walking past it. The cook at the pit was friendly. The cashier/host lady spent most of her time on her phone. Alot of items were not ready or available, I guess because it was so early. I got a 3 meat plate, which by comparison is more expensive than Podnuh, comparable to Shane’s pricing. Portion wise, perhaps a little more than those two restaurants. I ordered sausage, brisket, ribs, Mac & cheese, and beans. As they put the food together, I watched them heat my order up in the microwave. So, needless to say, the brisket & ribs on top were dried out. The ribs had good flavor & were still tender but the seasoning was so thick that you could taste the grittiness of it. The sausage was ok. The Mac & cheese was a bit flavorless imo. It was sitting in what appeared to be water, but definitely needed some salt & pepper. The beans were solid, not the best i have ever had but good. Best part of the order, flavorwise, the beans & the ribs (if you like that gritty taste). I said I would try again but for something else on their menu as they did have alot to offer.
