The amount of disappointment I feel was really terrible for my $83 . I was recommended by a friend of the owners. The Food was absolutely disgusting and tasteless. Crab rolls were salty and mushy. The Lobster was over cooked and salty. The pasta had no flavor none no cayenne pepper no cajun nothing but cream along with three shrimp. Will never go back again it all went in the ️. As a person who drove across town it was a waste of my gas and money. Bar had four women one bartender hyping up the food should have told me everything I needed to know.

My friends and I stumbled into shellfish for a quick bite on our lunch break. We saw this place on tik tok so we gave it a try. Upon arrival no one was there to greet us, shortly after the owner arrived and provided us with an apology-he recommended his best entrees!!! And service!! We had the snapper jerk fried rice, a crab boil , salmon bites and ohhh the honey old bay wings are finger licking good (and I am not an old bay fan).Although the location isn’t the best The place seems up and coming. food is good!! I will come back again! Try the snapper you wont regret it!!

Yum sea food boil! The drinks can be *strong*, the food is delicious, spicy, fresh, and portions are generous. Based on the lighting at night, at thought this place would be more bar/cocktail lounge. Have dropped in a few times for lunch/early dinner with my kid and it’s been a delicious surprise. It’s not fancy, it’s one of those great neighborhood finds. The food is delicious and it’s really reasonable for the seafood quality.

We went here for a birthday lunch & the food did not disappoint. The red snapper & the Thai fried rice is must try. It’s seasoned to perfection I wouldn’t change a thing about it. I also loved the crab egg rolls, they tasted like cream of crab in an egg roll. If anything I would go back for just those. We also tried the calamari & salmon bites. They both had that crispy skin that I love when I have fried food. I wasn’t a big fan of the remoulade sauce but the house sauce is The service was awesome & the playlist was on point. I also like the fact that she asked for feedback & really in took what we had to say. Definitely will be back here & bringing some friends with me!

I absolutely loved this place! Tik Tok led me here and no lies were told/showed. My mom and I went to DC to grab a quick bite and drinks! I had a mango martini and she had a strawberry dream drink – both to die for! I loved the buffalo shrimp! My mom had the fried red snapper with the jerk Thai fried rice! It was the perfect blend of spice and everything nice coupled with the remoulade drizzle. Our server was our bartender as well – she was very sweet and attentive while operating as one on the floor! I will definitely be coming back! If you love seafood, come here! I’m wondering if they offer a reward/points program – if not, it may be something that they would want to consider.

Service and food were excellent! We ordered the crab roll appetizer, salmon cheese steak, and warm lobster roll. The lobster roll was technically a special and not on the menu, but it was our favorite! It was cinco de mayo and the margaritas were really good. Great music vibes as well. We chatted with the owner who used to run a lobster truck. Definitely check this spot out!

#1 here’s a photo from our January 2024 happier visit to Shellfish Market & today was our 3rd time. #2 Neither of us asked for free food & in fact stressed that we weren’t asking for a discount. We simply wanted you to replace the fish that wasn’t fresh. #3 we support black businesses & that is why we were returning. Support for your community goes both ways.
I’ve been coming here for red snapper for over a year, but this was the first time I was disappointed by the lack of freshness. When I informed the server (a Black woman with long blonde braids), her lack of customer service was astonishing. The restaurant was empty except for our table, yet she acted as if she couldn’t hear me saying “excuse me” repeatedly—even after making eye contact from behind the bar while talking on the phone.
When she finally responded, she never took the phone away from her ear and just stared at me. I never requested a refund, only suggested cooking the fish more or replacing it with something fresher. She simply stated that they guarantee freshness and that no one else had complained, despite us being their first customers of the day.
I asked for the bill (that automatically charges 20% service fee), so her lack of customer service is rewarded.
I’m truly disappointed and will not be returning.

Their Lobster & Jerk Thai Fried Rice (Deep fried lobster tail with jerk seasoning infused fried rice with egg, spring & red onions $38). STAMP!! Crispy tender buttery lobster, & a hearty, & tasty mildly spicy fried rice!! WINNING!!

Omggg, EVERYTHING came out fresh & hot and most of all DELICIOUS!! The atmosphere was a vibe and the owner was so nice. They made sure that we enjoyed our visit. I had the Jerk Thai Rice with Salmon & Crab eggrolls, everything was 100000/ 10.. I will be back
UPDATE: I came back last night for a visit and was extremely disappointed. We did not get a chance to even order our food because the waitress we had with the BLONDISH COLOR braids was extremely rude and unprofessional which caused us to get up and leave. The table smelled like it was wiped with a dirty dish cloth so we expressed to her that the table had a bad smell even tho we can clearly see that she cleaned the table, the table stunk! She got upset that we spoke on it and just started doing the most. Head bobbing, rolling her eyes, with a whole bunch of hand movement and aggression in her tone.. like I don’t think customer service jobs is for her. It’s upsetting because my last experience was phenomenal and I was really hoping to make this a frequently visited place for me and my family but with waitresses like her I rather take my money elsewhere. The owner was really nice last time and I’m sad that I wasn’t able to support him but hopefully he will find staff that really wants to be there.
