Let me start by saying if SIX stars was an option County Smoak would easily get it. Real people making real food, putting their heart into it, and the people are wonderful. From the moment we arrived, taking our order, a quick tour of the smoke house, and even being offered a taste of an additional side, everyone we encountered only added to the absolute magic of this place.
Now about the food. I had the pulled pork, baked beans, coleslaw and Mac and cheese. Yes all of that, I don’t need your judgement. Everything was absolutely divine, and cooked to pure perfection. What stood out the most was the Mac and cheese, I would smack my momma for a bowl of it. Oh and the additional taste I was offered was the greens which single handedly changed my view of greens. Whether you live in Lynchburg, passing through or just have a day off to drive to it, this is a place you should not miss. County Smoak absolutely deserves the many awards and plaques they have hanging on the walls.

Tiny little BBQ place along the road in Lynchburg. The food here is EXCELLENT.

Every time I visit VA I make a stop here! The gobble mac and cheese is delicious! There is limited indoor seating, but plenty of picnic tables outside. Staff are always helpful and polite

This is some of the best BBQ we have ever had. The brisket sandwich was some amazingly seasoned. My wife had a bbq sandwich that was the size of a baby pig. The original sauce was so good. Sweet with just a touch spice. We both went for the smoked Mac and cheese and I’m so glad we did. Top 3 Mac and cheese ever. Not sure where the roll/buns they use came from but it takes the meals to another level. 2 combos for $39. This would seem high for 2 combos but based on the amount of meat and quality of food, it was well worth it. Mostly outside seating. Had a couple tables inside.

EXCELLENT FOOD, friendly staff!!! This place was the bomb on a Sunday afternoon drive in the countryside. Collard greens were so rich and tender. The brisket was so tender it melted on my taste buds. Regular size macaroni noodles in a super creamy cheese with shredded cheddar baked on top! Fire&Ice pickles, shredded pork, Worcestershire based bbq sauce, all delicious!!
The pork sandwich had a good portion of meat on it pickles and slaw.
This place is not cheap but any time I have had BBQ on this level it has been more expensive. That being said this place is not fancy, only one table and a counter for indoor seating. There is a fair amount of outdoor seating. There might have been a picnic shelter, I’m not sure. I feel the quality of the food was a good value for the money we spent.

I love this little bbq spot! OMG some of the BEST food in town! The customer service is so friendly and thoughtful! Every time I come in to order greens I also get a cup of the pot liquor for my greens. lol I love their food. I’d tell any and everyone to stop by and pick up everything on the menu including the desserts! The smoked banana pudding is a gourmet treat! ❤️ sorry I don’t have photos right now I was hungry.

We were taken care of by Ruthie and her service was amazing! 10/10! She was al friendly and kind and you could just tell she loved where she works.
The food was AMAZING. Some of the best BBQ we’ve had in Virginia. The serving sizes were great and even the sides were delicious!
The menu has a lot of options- some old faithfuls and some unique to here!

WOW! I’m flying back to VA just to eat here! Ha! Okay, I’m going to see my college kid, and go eat here every time I visit! YUM! The Virginia Chicken on the salad was to die for! It was full of flavor! The Mac and cheese is probably the best Mac & Cheese I’ve ever had! The guys demolished their pulled pork sandwiches! We had perfect weather and enjoyed our food outside! This is a place where you could easily grab your food to go. One word: mmmmmmmmm!

Everything was amazing! The staff was friendly and super helpful. I got a bit of everything, totally recommend the brisket and ribs, but the sides were just as good as the proteins. The collars and mac & cheese were my favorite sides, got to have the collars to cut all the richness in my opinion.
Overall it was a great experience and will definitely be back if I’m in the area.
