Modest restaurant with FANTASTIC FOOD!! I just had the most amazing shrimp won ton soup on earth!! Homemade and plentiful. My son ordered the orange chicken and that’s the best in town. Really amazing spot. Go eat!!!! Owner is cooking! You’ll love it!

This place is fire. Very mom and pop run place. The dumplings and wontons are so delicious. They also have entrees served with a white rice side that is very good. I had the kung pao chicken which was delicious served with plenty of peanuts and some mushrooms for added flavor.

Tried Northern Cafe to go and it was delicious. Simple food with the focus on dumplings but tasty and good portions. Pork and cabbage dumplings were very flavorful and large, definitely will return.

I have been to many Northern Cafes and have been looking forward to this one. I noticed most of the reviews were about dumplings and realized this one is more specialized for dumplings (boiled, pan-fried and steamed XLB varieties.
I was hoping for the noodle specialties like the one in Gardena (which is my favorite in the region, 10 min more drive for me).
We ordered:
– crab dumplings- steamed, XLB style, it was pretty good
– lamb dumplings- pan fried, it was ok, a little oily
– beef noodle soup- it was ok, they only served with thin noodles, we preferred other handmade varieties at the Gardena store
We also ordered the beef rolls to go, it looked exact like the ones shown on the poster, ha ha.
Overall, pretty good if you are hungry dumplings!

I’ve walked by this place in years, it’s kinda invisible. Stopped by for Kung Pao Chicken and it was actually decent food. It’s a little funky inside because half of the restaurant looks closed off but eventually all the tables were occupied as I was leaving.

Ordered Dan Dan noodles with chicken, Shrimp Dumplings with sauce, and fried chicken. The Dan Dan gravy/curry was not to our liking, the other two were okay. No dine in option when we went for dinner, only take out. Disappointed as we drove 25 min for dine in. They need to update maps to reflect that. Parking lot is not very big, but works as it’s a relatively a small joint

They have a great choices and all are great. I would like to see them clean up the clutter and get more dine in clients. The beef noodles are off the chain. Thai tea deal at 3 bucks too.

Worst Northern Cafe I have been to, believe me I have been to a couple of them. Limited seating options only 4 tables available, Small portions and the food lacked flavor especially the green beans and the worst thing was that my food was served in plastic to go plates even though my food was to dine in , the so called chilli oil sauce was nothing but dry chili flakes, off brand Siracha sauce and overall bad experience I wouldn’t recommend this place to anyone and the customer service was none existent. Next time I’ll drive farther for a good experience and go to the one on Redondo Beach or the one on USC.

I ordered Dandan noodles and it was not good. I have ordered this from the Northern Cafe in Cerritos and it was delicious, not watery like this one. There was hardly any pork or peanuts. It was a container of bland noodles with a bland soup base. Save your money and get something else or order it from the Cerritos location.
