I’ve known of Gus hot dogs at the Adamsville location for years, but never ate there, today I ordered a hotdog and french fries and I saw the cook throwing in cooked french fries to warm them up. When I got the fries, (I appreciate the thought of heating them) but they were full of oil. One of them when I took a bite it squirt oil on my mouth, I probably ate three or four fries, and threw the rest away.
Just a heads up, when you double fry french fries, you don’t fry them at the same temperature. I appreciate the thought, but I’ll never buy from Gus’s hot dogs again for trying to save a few cents instead of frying new French fries.

It may not look like much bc i ate some before i thought about a review but let me tell you. If you haven’t had gus’s hot dogs from this location you need to!!!! The staff is very friendly and helpful. The establishment is so clean and beautifully remodeled.
I will not lie I DO NOT eat hot dogs, I just have never cared for them but, I decided to stop in today to try something new. I bought myself the works dogs which is pictured(minus one bc i already ate it) lol and I got the chili cheese fries to split with my husband and he got 2 dogs as well. THESE ARE THE MOST MESSY YET NEAT DOGS AND CANT FORGET THEY ARE SOOOOOO FREAKING DELICIOUS. I will definitely be returning.
OH DID I MENTION THAT ITS FAIRLY CHEAP CASH ONLY AS WELL.

I used to love this place but it’s gone downhill. I ordered the special dog and fries and I think cardboard would’ve tasted better. This isn’t the first time either. It’s been this way for at least a couple of years. The hotdogs had less than half of the meat and toppings that they used to have and their fries are nothing more small crispy shells with no potato. They still refuse to take debit or credit so you better have cash or they’re going to tell you to go to an ATM. It’s a shame because I grew up here and loved this place. Sneaky Pete’s is so much better.

They only take cash, but food is delish…hot & fresh. Service was friendly & food i had called ahead to order was ready when I arrived even though they were busy.
Sidewalk & ramps are not wheelchair friendly [doors block sidewalk & nearby business had flower pots out blocking narrow sidewalk & ramp, so a wheelchair or other mobility device, like a rollator or walker, could not pass], but property is not owned by Gus’s.

I have only had the hot dogs here and they are fine. Not the greatest thing ever. Be aware this place does not accept anything other than cash. Debit and credit cards are no good here.
There is no bathroom.
Also, if you dine in you only get one free refill on drinks.
It’s a very old school, concession stand type of restaurant, so have the right expectations going in.

1st and last time eating here. The ladies are nice, but the food not so good. I ordered a big cheeseburger with extra onions and got a mushy cheeseburger with no onions and a smashed tomato. Ordered a chili cheese dog and the dog was really salty. My wife ordered a chili cheeseburger and said it was ok. Had too try it,now we know.

Love the cheese burger, the special dog, and the hot beef sandwich. Food is always fresh and hot. Fries are tasty & just right. Even the soft drinks have the perfect combination of good cold fizz. Do I know anyone here in a personal way or is any of my extended family related? NO! Ordinary hole in the wall? Maybe so. Great fast food, but fresh enough to not be too fast? Yes. Hard working ladies to help you? Yes. Perfect? Well, no. But I always tip because it’s always worth it. I’ve never had a bad meal here and I’ve had hundreds. The burgers are better than any of the chains. Now, during these corona blue days get over there and give them your business!
